Chapter 13
KGOTHATSO .CHAPTER : 13 .
EARLY HOURS ..
She hears the light being turned on as she quickly sit up ..
Mandlawenkosi : don't scream , it's me .
Kgothatso : why are you in here ? Aren't you supposed to sleep ?
Mandlawenkosi : are you able to sleep ?
She sighs lightly and shakes her head .
Kgothatso : I'm not .
Mandlawenkosi : I'm having nightmares .
Kgothatso : (clears her throat) come ..
He jumps in bed with her as they both sit up supporting their head on the heardboard .
Mandlawenkosi : why aren't you able to sleep ?
Kgothatso : I don't know ..
Mandlawenkosi : I can't sleep in a bed that Zobuhle probably bewitched .
Kgothatso : I hear you ..
Mandlawenkosi : are you traditional ?
She shrugs .
Kgothatso : I think I am , but at the same time I'm modern as well .
Mandlawenkosi : so you're okay with having a traditional wedding ?
Kgothatso : I am okay ..
Mandlawenkosi : i just wanted to ask , so my dad or mom don't do anything you're not okay with .
Kgothatso : I'm fine with it , don't worry .
Mandlawenkosi : you're a medical doctor neh ?
She nods .
Kgothatso : that's what I wanted to talk about actually , will your family expect me to quit my job and be a housewife ?
Mandlawenkosi : I wouldn't allow that .
Kgothatso : because I don't really want to quit my job .
Mandlawenkosi : you don't need to worry , I'm more than okay with you going to work .
Kgothatso : and coming back to fulfill my wifely duties .
Mandlawenkosi : yes that also .
She nods .
Kgothatso : okay ..
Mandlawenkosi : you're ready to sleep ?
Kgothatso : hmm ..
Mandlawenkosi : this is my space and that's your space ..
She chuckles .
Kgothatso : you're so shy , it's insane .
Mandlawenkosi : I'm not .
Kgothatso : hear me out when I tell you .
He shakes his head .
Mandlawenkosi : I don't know what you're talking about , really .
They lay their heads on the pillows ..
Kgothatso : goodnight ..
Mandlawenkosi : goodnight .
She closes her eyes with her heart beating fast yet drifting to sleep ..

IN THE MORNING ..
She opens her eyes and sits up , once she realizes she's still in Mandla's house . She jumps off the bed and rubs her eyes .. she sighs and grabs her phone .
Kgothatso : time .. time ..
She glances at the time and pops out her eyes , she slept until 12pm ? that's rare . She turns off her phone and turns around , she heads to the bathroom and finds new toiletries in there . She smiles a bit and takes out a toothbrush from the toiletry bag . She brushes her teeth then cleanses her face , once she hears loud laughter coming from downstairs .
Kgothatso : oh my god ...
She walks out and heads downstairs as they all move their eyes to her , they glance at her then at Mandla with their eyes popped out .
Mandlawenkosi : don't stare at me ..
: you didn't tell us that you had company ..
Mandlawenkosi : come ..
He says glancing at Kgothatso who's still in his clothes , they chuckle glancing at how adorable she looks .
Mandlawenkosi : so .. this is Kgothatso ..
: and who's Kgothatso ?
Mandlawenkosi : Kgothatso is my soon to be wife .
: what ?!
They glance at Mandla then Kgothatso ..
Mandlawenkosi : I'm supposed to be paying lobola this Saturday .
: excuse me ? when did you get engaged ? when did you even meet her ? Aren't you with Zobuhle ?
Mandlawenkosi : it's a long story ..
They glance at her ..
: but you're gorgeous , definitely match Mandla's type .
Mandlawenkosi : these are my friends . Zolani , Siyanda and Skhumbuzo .
Zolani : I'm the awesome friend , these two are the most boring .
Siyanda : Stop lying ..
Kgothatso : hi ..
She walks to the kitchen ..
Zolani : you better tell us that she's just a one night stand or else ...
Mandlawenkosi : do you see a one night stand when you look at her ? Respect people guys .
Skhumbuzo : so wait , you're really getting married ?
Mandlawenkosi : I'm paying lobola first then we're heading to KZN for the traditional wedding .
Zolani : oh my , this is real ?
Mandlawenkosi : yep .
Zolani : she looks good .
Mandlawenkosi : good is an understatement .
Skhumbuzo : you love her ?
He shakes his head .
Mandlawenkosi : I don't .
Zolani : oh yeah , you don't .
Siyanda : this is some type of arranged marriege isn't it ?
He nods .
Mandlawenkosi : yeah .
Zolani : but she's fine , even in your clothes . She looks adorable , her body is very beautiful and well shaped .
Mandlawenkosi : you don't talk about my wife to be like that , respect her .
Zolani : yeah yeah ..
While Kgothatso sits on the counter with a glass of water , Mandlawenkosi stands up and walks to the kitchen .
Mandlawenkosi : hey ..
Kgothatso : hello , why didn't you wake me up ? its like 12pm now .
Mandlawenkosi : you were sleeping peacefully so I didn't want to wake you up .
Kgothatso : I'm so tired and I have to go , I've got a shift in a few hours .
Mandlawenkosi : I hope you don't mind that my friends are here , they just barged in .
Kgothatso : it's okay , did you eat ? I wanted to prepare breakfast before I go .
Mandlawenkosi : you don't have to , I'm serious now . I'll order in ..
Kgothatso : but ..
Mandlawenkosi : you're tired so you're not preparing breakfast .
Kgothatso : (sighs) fine ..
Mandlawenkosi : saw your toiletries ?
She nods .
Kgothatso : thank you , you fucked up with the soaps though .
Mandlawenkosi : I know , I didn't know which soap you use .
Kgothatso : but I'm grateful ..
Mandlawenkosi : sure ..
Kgothatso : let me go take a shower then ... get ready to leave . It's a big day tomorrow .
Mandlawenkosi : it is ...
Kgothatso : you can go to your friends ..
Mandlawenkosi : they're gonna nag me , they've been nagging me since they saw you .
Kgothatso : they're more surprised .
Mandlawenkosi : who ever thought I'd get married ?
Kgothatso : I never thought I'd get married myself .
They both walk out ..
Zolani : done having your morning talk ?
Mandlawenkosi : yes ..
Zolani : let your wife sit with us ..
Kgothatso : no I can't , I have to go shower and head back to my house .
Siyanda : I'm sure you can spare us 5 minutes of your time ..
Kgothatso : please don't interrogate me .
Skhumbuzo : relax ...
She sighs and sits down ..
Kgothatso : what is it ?
Zolani : how old are you ? Where do you stay ? What do you do ?
She glances at him and rolls her eyes lightly ..
Kgothatso : I'm 25 , Sandton and I'm a medical doctor .
Zolani : oh thats cool ...
Siyanda : you stay alone ?
Kgothatso : yeah .
Skhumbuzo : so once you two are married , will you be moving in ?
Mandlawenkosi : yes she will be moving in , now please stop asking my future wife unnecessary questions .
Zolani : aishhh ..
Mandlawenkosi : you can go shower , they're not gonna stop questioning you .
Kgothatso : yeah ..
She stands up and walks upstairs ..
Zolani : and you say you're not inlove with her ?
Mandlawenkosi : she is a beautiful woman with a pure heart but I don't have to fall inlove with her in order to see that .
