KGOTHATSO .

CHAPTER : 40 .

— 7 MONTHS LATER ..

Florence groans mixing the potions in the big pot calling upon Kgothatso's name multiple times .

Lilly : don't stop !

She holds the stick tightly ..

Florence : she's protected by her greatest ancestors . They won't let anything happen to her .

Dorothy : but the child won't survive thats for sure .

Florence : it's almost time she gives birth and the pain she's gonna get is a pain from outer space .

— MANDLAWENKOSI'S MANSION .

She screams trying to endure the pain but it doesn't go away , they all sit there watching her screaming . With Mandla's heart breaking , yet he's keeping a strong face .

Masentle : your aunts are brutal .

MaMofokeng : she's trying to fight them , but i don't think she'll manage .

Masentle : oh my child ..

Mandlawenkosi : what can we do ? She can't stay in pain like this .

MaMofokeng : she'll calm down herself ..

Gosiame : (cries) why are they doing this to her ? What has she ever done to them ? She doesn't deserve all of this ..

Mandlawenkosi sighs , this wouldn't have been happening if it wasn't for their marriage . If Kgothatso didn't have to heal him then she wouldn't be experiencing all this pain .

Kelebogile : (sniffs) you know what's annoying about Kgothatso ? She doesn't cry . She's bottling this up and its breaking her .

Realeboga : she's putting on a brave face but .. she's really breaking down .

Kgothatso kneels down screaming lightly but her eyes dry , no tears .. nothing .

Bab'Ndlovu : what do we do ?

Gogo Manzini : they're sucking the life out of the child ..

Brenda : do something.! Those witches cannot get away with this !

Gogo Manzini : I tried , the ancestors blocked me .

Brenda : they blocked you from saving my daughter inlaw and grandchild ? Manzini !

Gogo Manzini : even Kgothatso and her grandmother tried , but nothing worked . Whatever is going to happen , it's for the both of them .

Mandlawenkosi : for the both of us ? Losing a child is for the both of us ? are you joking right now ?

Gogo Manzini : do not be in denial , whatever happens ...just know that they're doing it for the both of you .

Mandla sighs ..

Mandlawenkosi : maybe we shouldn't have gotten married , she's suffering because of me .

Kgothalo : don't say shit right now ..

Masentle : Language ..

Kgothatso sighs heavily feeling a very sharp pain on her back , the baby kicking more and more .

Kgothatso : oh my god ...

She throws her head back cringing ..

Kgothatso : it hurts so bad ..

Mpiyakhe : does prayer work in such situations ?

MaMofokeng : lets pray .

She says glancing at Kgothatso with tears in her eyes .. they all surround the bed holding hands with Nelisiwe glancing at Kgothatso with pity .

Brenda : lets pray ..

Masentle starts praying , Kgothatso shakes her head beginning to sweat .

Kgothatso : i don't think I can hold it in anymore .

They finish praying and open their eyes ..

Mandlawenkosi : Kgothatso ..

Kgothatso : I'm..I'm breathless .

Kgothalo : she needs the hospital .

Nelisiwe : no but won't they say she needs to give birth ?

Kgothalo : she won't survive another minute .

Mandlawenkosi : lets go ..

Kgothatso shuts her eyes ..

Mandlawenkosi : Kgothie .. Kgothatso ??

Realeboga : Lets go !!

Mandla carries her out heading downstairs , he walks out of the house and places Kgothatso in the backseat with Kgothalo and Kelebogile .

Kelebogile : what kind of test is this ? why is she suffering so much ?

Mandlawenkosi drives off in speed as the other cars follow him , he steps on the accelerator and the car speeds off .

Once they reach the hospital , they get Kgothatso admitted and she's taken to the emergency room .

Brenda : I wish everything is not true and that the baby actually survives .

Mpiyakhe : I don't want to imagine what she's gonna go through .

Mandlawenkosi : can you all just shut up ? you're stressing me out ..

He says walking a bit further ..

Masentle : Ma what's wrong ?

MaMofokeng : I don't know ..

Masentle : are you feeling unwell or something ?

She glances at Masentle ..

Masentle : no ..

Kelebogile : what's happening ?

Masentle : mother ..

MaMofokeng : I already saw it .

Masentle : No ! you won't do that to Kgothatso , you won't .

Realeboga : what are you talking about ?

MaMofokeng glances at all of them faintly continously taking deep breaths .

Gogo Manzini : her shadow ..

They glance at the both of them confused ..

MaMofokeng : its time for me to say goodbye ..

Brenda : what do you mean time to say goodbye ?

MaMofokeng : i saw this coming ..

Masentle shakes her head multiple times ..

Masentle : you know very well Kgothatso won't take this well .

Gosiame : are you leaving us ?

She says with tears in her eyes ..

Gosiame : Grandma ..

MaMofokeng : I'm sorry .

The doctor runs out of the room calling other nurses ..

Kgothalo : doctor .. doctor how is my sister ?

Doctor : I cant tell you anything right now ! Hey hurry up ! the patient's heart rate is decreasing .

Kelebogile : what ??

The doctor walks inside and closes the door again as Kgothalo stands there still .

Masentle : Mother no .. please don't ! Please get her admitted too ..
