KGOTHATSO .

CHAPTER : 20 .

They walk inside of the house as Mandlawenkosi's mother immediately gasps and stands up .

Brenda : ohh you're here !

She walks towards them with a wide smile ..

Brenda : Mpiyakhe move ... we know you .

Mpiyakhe : ohh ?? eh ..

She glances at Kgothatso with a smile ..

Brenda : you must be my daughter inlaw , Kgothatso right ?

Kgothatso : yes , I'm Kgothatso .

Brenda : it's so great to finally meet you hey , you're even more prettier in person .

Kgothatso : thank you , I'm glad to be here .

Brenda : and thank you so much for helping my stubborn son to get better , he looks so much better and brighter .

Mandlawenkosi : haven't I looked like this ever ?

Brenda : you're back to your normal self and that's the only thing we've ever wanted , now you also have a beautiful significant other .

Mandlawenkosi : won't you let us in ?

She lets them in as they walk to the lounge ..

The other women glance at Kgothatso frowning ..

Mandla's aunt : you're a healer ? dressed like this ?

Kgothatso : is there anything wrong with the way I'm dressed ?

Brenda : good question , is there a problem ?

Mandla's aunt : she's showing her legs , yes the dress is long but she could've placed a blanket over her waist so her legs don't show .

Brenda : oh my God , there's nothing wrong with the way Kgothatso is dressing , the dress is beautiful and she's beautiful as well .

Bab'Ndlovu : this is not the time to be showing Kgothatso how evil hearted you are . Shukuthi you didn't want Mandla to get married and actually heal ?

Mandla's aunt : of course I wanted him to heal but she's a healer , she should dres like one .

Kgothatso glances at Mandlawenkosi ..

Mandlawenkosi : how are healers supposed to dress auntie ?

Mandla's aunt : in an appropriate way .

Mandlawenkosi : maybe you should start dressing like a healer since you love them so much , this is my wife and no one will disrespect her in my presence . That , I won't allow .

Brenda : right .. I think Samkele has finished setting the table up , we may go and have breakfast .

Mpiyakhe : ohh we are hungry , lets go .

They walk to the dining room as Samkele smiles glancing at Kgothatso ..

Samkele : it's so great to see you .

Kgothatso : im happy to see you too .

Samkele : I saved this seat just for you , I want you next to me .

Brenda : and here I wanted her to sit next to me .

Mandlawenkosi : excuse me ? If I remember correctly , I'm the one who paid lobola for her and she's my wife . I'm the one who's supposed to sit next to her ..

Samkele : this is our time , you can sit over there with your brother and father .

He sighs lightly and glances at Kgothatso who chuckles .

Kgothatso : go ..

Mandlawenkosi : I'm so mad at you .

Kgothatso : haa ?

Brenda : you'll be fine.

They all sit down as they put Kgothatso in between .

Samkele : want me to dish up for you ?

Kgothatso : that's okay , let me just dish up for Mandlawenkosi .

Samkele : haa he can dish up for himself .

Mandlawenkosi : apparently I'm unable to use my hands , they might be paralyzed or something .

Mpiyakhe : (laughs) tell her , uyaphapha lo .

Samkele : ha.a ...

Kgothatso leans over and takes his plate .

Kgothatso : what do you want to eat ?

Mandlawenkosi : this and that .. not that , the beetroot no .. the potato salad , and the meat . Lots and lots of meat .

Kgothatso : (nods) ..

Brenda : you must be living the soft life , you're being dished up9 for .

Mandlawenkosi : you still dish up for dad till this day , don't come for me or Kgothatso .

Brenda : I would never come for her , I'll come for you . Maybe she must teach you how to cook .

Mandlawenkosi : she will teach me so I can cook for her some days ..

Samkele : ohh that's cute , so cute !

Kgothatso : there's your food ..

Mandla's aunt : she doesn't even pour enough meat for you ..

Mandlawenkosi : where do you enter ? if I'm not full , I'll ask her to pour some more . If only you'd focus on your own married life and leave mine .

Her face falls down as she starts dishing up for herself , Samkele dishes up for Kgothatso .

Kgothatso : not a lot , I ate on the way .

Samkele : okay , I think this might be enough .

Kgothatso : thank you .

Brenda : I love your nails ..

Kgothatso : thank you , I'll take you to where I do them , she does a really good job .

Brenda : I'd be delighted .

Bab'Ndlovu : so you want to put on nails ? As old as you are ?

Brenda : haa ??

They laugh ...

Brenda : I'm 53 years younger , don't you dare .

Bab'Ndlovu : I surrender .

Mpiyakhe : she must do her nails , long ones . I want to see whether she'll be able to work with them on .

Brenda : Kgothatso will teach me .

Kgothatso : I will .

Kgothatso glances at one of Mandla's aunts , they've been staring at her this entire times , what has she done wrong now ? Her hearts gets heavy just by their looks as she shuts her eyes slowly .

Mandlawenkosi : Kgothatso ..

Kgothatso : I'm fine ..

Samkele : let me pour water for you .

Mandla's aunt : these spiritual things of yours must not disturb our breakfast please .

She opens her eyes as Samkele hands her the glass of water , she gulps it down in one go .

Brenda : are you okay now ?

Kgothatso : I'm okay ..

She says avoiding their eyes , she grabs her fork and starts eating . The other aunt glances at the other as they nod at each other .

They finished eating about an hour ago and now Kgothatso is washing the dishes with Brenda and Samkele .

Brenda : your skin is beautiful ..

Samkele : not only the skin , she's beautiful in general .

Kgothatso : you've been complimenting me ever since I got here ..

Brenda : you're giving us a reason to , you're so gorgeous . It's insane ..

Mandlawenkosi walks into the kitchen ..

Brenda : please do not steal her , we're having such a nice conversation .

Mandlawenkosi : I am here to steal her , I want to talk to her for a short while .

Samkele : haa ? you have a house that you're both going to sleep in , you can always talk to her then .

He glances at Kgothatso and she nods , she quickly wipes her hands .

Kgothatso : I'll be back .

Samkele : okay .

She follows Mandlawenkosi upstairs as they walk into his bedroom that he uses whenever he's here .

Kgothatso : what ?

Mandlawenkosi : what did you see ?

Kgothatso : huh ?

Mandlawenkosi : at the table , you saw something . What was it ?

Kgothatso : I saw nothing .

Mandlawenkosi : Kgothatso ..

She sighs and closes the door ..

Kgothatso : these aunts of yours , there's something wrong about them .

Mandlawenkosi : go on ..

Kgothatso : I looked at one of them and felt my heart getting heavy , something felt off .

Mandlawenkosi : hmm ..

She sighs ..

Kgothatso : that's it ..

Mandlawenkosi : I wonder what's the problem is ..

Kgothatso : either they use muthi or perform witchcraft , I just can't put my head around it . You're surrounded by all these bad spirits and it's not even good for your health .

Mandlawenkosi : but you're here .

She nods ..

Kgothatso : I won't let anything happen to you .

Mandlawenkosi : I know that ..

Kgothatso : is this your bedroom ?

Mandlawenkosi : yeah ..

Kgothatso : it's nice ..

Mandlawenkosi : we can go ..

She nods lightly .

Kgothatso : I don't know .. can you give me a hug ?

Mandlawenkosi : huh ?
