CHAPTER : 34 .

—THE NEXT MORNING .

She sits on the bed facing the window , lost in her thoughts . He's not even speaking to her .

Mandlawenkosi : I've packed the bags , we can go .

She keeps quiet and he sighs ..

Mandlawenkosi : Kgothatso I've packed the bag , lets go .

Still no response or movement , he walks over to her and glances at her .. she looks like she's in another place , her mind is in another place .

Mandlawenkosi : Kgothatso ..

He shakes her and she jumps up in fear ..

Kgothatso : whats wrong ?

Mandlawenkosi : I said we can go .

Kgothatso : ohh .. okay .

She stands up and walks out first , Mpiyakhe enter their room ..

Mpiyakhe : hey ..

Mandlawenkosi : she's still not telling me what the problem is .

Mpiyakhe : she just rushed to the car .

Mandlawenkosi : i don't get her , we just got married and now she's being unfaithful and shit .

Mpiyakhe : you'll talk when you get to Sandhurst .

Mandlawenkosi : I'm becoming irritated keh mina , I just want her to vent .

Mpiyakhe : talk to her properly , maybe she'll burp out whatever she wants to say .

He sighs ..

Mandlawenkosi : I'll see you whenever .

Mpiyakhe : sure sure ..

He walks out and meets his family outside ..

Brenda : don't be a stranger .

Mandlawenkosi : you're in the rural areas , you know thats not more of my style .

Brenda : nonsense , this is your home .

Mandlawenkosi : (sighs) im gonna miss you.

Brenda : me too .

Samkele : won't you miss me too ?

Brenda : of course I'll miss you , you silly girl !

Bab'Ndlovu : you can see that your wife is not okay , don't be too hard on her .

He sighs .

Mandlawenkosi : I'll try , Samkele lets go ..

Samkele : bye !

They jump in the car and he glances at Kgothatso who's just facing forward .

Mandlawenkosi : your seatbelt ..

She puts on the seatbelt and he starts the engine ..

Samkele : I'm gonna miss mom and dad .

Mandlawenkosi : you can always stay behind .

Samkele : never ... not in the rural areas please ..

He chuckles lightly and drives off ..

Samkele : Sis Kgothatso are you sleeping ?

Kgothatso : no , I'm not .

Samkele : oh because dad is gonna be staying here for a while , can i please stay at your house for a while ? Just until he comes back .

Kgothatso : that's okay , you can come .

Samkele : super ..

Mandlawenkosi : why didn't you ask me ?

Samkele : nope , i prefered to ask Sis Kgothatso and not you .

Mandlawenkosi : yeah right , im the one who buys you these awesome things you have .

Samkele : she'll buy them for you too , she is my sister .

Kgothatso : i swear its like I'm not in the car .

Samkele : it's your husband .

— FEW HOURS LATER ..

He drives in and parks the car , they jump off the car and walk inside ..

Kgothatso : I'm gonna go start cooking .

Mandlawenkosi : cook for the both of you only , I'm going out somewhere .

Kgothatso : where are you going ?

Mandlawenkosi : I'm gonna go meet up with my friends , is there a problem ?

She sighs lightly.

Kgothatso : be safe ..

He walks upstairs ...

Samkele : is he mad at you ?

Kgothatso : yep .

Samkele : and he's going to drink till he blacks out in this case .

Kgothatso : Mandla is a grown man , I don't want to control him . Are you gonna cook with me ?

Samkele : of course ..

They walk to the kitchen as Kgothatso's phone rings , she grabs it and picks it up .

Kgothatso : Mama ..

Masentle : my baby .

She walks out of the kitchen and heads to the lounge .

Masentle : what's happening ?

Kgothatso : I feel like Kgothalo must be the one to receive these news first before anyone else .

Masentle : you're scaring us .

Kgothatso : I'm scared myself .

Masentle : does it have anything to do with your grandmother ?

Kgothatso : no , please . You all come back and I'll call a family meeting .

Masentle : (sighs) okay ..

She hangs up and sighs heavily , Mandlawenkosi walks down the stairs putting on his hoddie .

Kgothatso : Mandla ..

Mandlawenkosi : not in the mood , i really have to go .

He says walking out and banging the door , she sighs and walks back to the kitchen .

Samkele : what are we cooking ?

Kgothatso : what do you like eating ?

Samkele : uhm .. I love creamy mac n cheese .

Kgothatso : then we're making just that .

They borh start cooking ..

— AT A BAR ..

He gulps one shot down and sucks the lemon ..

Zolani : you're drinking too much .

Mandlawenkosi : do you think she's gonna change towards me and thinks I wont do anything because she's the one who's saving my life currently .

Skhumbuzo : what are you talking about ? didn't you just get married ?

Mandlawenkosi : she went into a trance before we left and saw something . I feel like she's trying to hide whatever she saw .

Siyanda : why would she hide that though ?

Mandlawenkosi : I don't know , I pleaded with her to tell me the truth but she's being tough headed .

Zobuhle enters the bar with the shortest dress she could ever wear and smirks glancing at Mandlawenkosi . She catwalks to their table ..

Zobuhle : gents ..

Zolani : ohh are you a disease sister ? why are you here ?

She glances at Mandla who's not even looking at her ..

Zobuhle : is this how the married life is treating you ?

Mandlawenkosi : I'm not in the mood to talk to you , never will I ever be in the mood to talk to witches that curse other people .

Zobuhle : witch ? I'm not a witch .

Skhumbuzo : so you say ..

Zolani winks his eye at Zobuhle and she nods .

Zobuhle : can we talk ?

Mandlawenkosi : no ..

He says grabbing his car keys ..

Mandlawenkosi : I'm going back home .

Zolani : I thought you were angry with your wife .

Mandlawenkosi : I'm starting to regret the fact that I left just like that . I shouldn't abandon her when I'm angry , she's still unwell so chaos .

He stands up and walks out as Zobuhle follows him ..
