LUYANDA

Both my best friends are suffering emotionally so and  my heart breaks for them. It's been about 2 weeks since Mbali survived that uterine rupture and since Sbani got dumped. She said she temporarily moved in with Christopher's mother for unknown reasons and Mbali decided to go back home so she can heal properly.

I wish them nothing but healing to be honest, it's my break time here at work and I'm heading out to grab lunch alone. I step out of the car and lock it before placing the car key in my handbag and walking off. I walk inside and I'm given a free table. I sit down and take the menu infront of me.

“May I sit?” A male voice says causing me to raise my head, I glare at him and my heart stops foe a while.

“You?” I say, he smiles a bit and nods.

“Yes it's me, I know you were not expecting to see me here or talk to you but here I am.” He says, this is Lincoln's younger son. Christopher's younger brother, lord what is he doing here? is he here to insult me?

“So can I sit?” He asks, I find myself nodding. He sits down and pushes the chair back a bit.

“Nkanyiso..” He says holding out his hand, I stare at it till he eventually moves it away.

“Luyanda..” I say, he nods.

“You're sister inlaw's bestie. I know that..” He says, this is awkward.

“Have you ordered yet or you're still looking?” He asks, what's happening? why is he being so nice to me? is this some type of revenge?

“I haven't ordered anything.” I say avoiding his eyes, doesn't he know that his father molested me? of course he knows but I don't understand why he's acting like this.

“You look nervous. Listen.. not to trigger you or anything but I'm not my dad. Relax..” He says, I swallow a huge lump down my throat.

“I never said you were..” I say staring at him with a straight face.

“Sorry, what are you going to order? I'm gonna have the cheese salad.” He says, I frown and shake my head.

“Did he send you? to come and see how I'm doing?” I ask him. He raises his eyebrow.

“Ukhuluma ngani?” He asks.

“Cut the crap, Nkanyiso or whoever you are. You can't be talking nice to someone who sent your dad to jail.” I say.

“Why is that? am I supposed to hate you or something?” He asks..

“I literally sent your dad to jail for r-pe.. don't play nice with me and pretend please. Say what you want to say and leave..” I say.

“So I'm supposed to ask you why you were flirting with a married old man?” He asks and I frown even more.

“Yazin, i think I'm gonna go.” I say getting up and storming out. What is wrong with this guy? I jump in my car and drive back to work. I'll just order something and have it delivered to my office.

SBANISENKOSI

I park my car infront of my parents' house and take a deep breath before jumping off and walking inside.

“Sbani!” My mother says dropping the flowers she's holding and rushing to me. She pulls me into her arms..

“You must stop coming home after a long time Sbani, you're stressing me out..” She says brushing my back.

“I'm sorry..” I say wiping off my tears, she cups my face and studies it carefully..

“Are you okay? don't cry.” She says wiping off my tears. She kisses my forehead and heaves a sigh.

“How have you been?” She asks, I sigh.

“Can we sit? is Dad home?” I ask her, she nods and pulls me to the lounge. We sit down.

“Sbanisenkosi what's going on my baby? why are you doing this to us? you're hurting and you can't even come home to your parents?” Sbe asks.

“I didn't want dad to see me like this. I needed my own time to adjust to everything after the break up. Nkanyezi's mother took me in and she's been helping me alot.” I say.

“Here's your dad..” She says, I glare at my dad who's walking down the stairs. He walks into the lounge and sits on the one seater couch.

“Sbanisenkosi..” He says.

“Hi dad..” I say.

“You said you wanted to talk to the both of us about something, what is it? I hope the explanation is enough to explain why you've disappeared for over 2 weeks.” He says, I heave a sigh.

“Nkanyezi broke up with me..” I say.

“Yes I know that and I know that he did that because he has issues. Tell me when was the last time you attended therapy?” Dad asks, I look down.

“Weeks back..” I say.

“And why? do you think therapy is too much for you? I honestly think that he did well by choosing himself. You're not putting in enough work in yourself Sbanisenkosi.” He says, ouch.

“I don't think therapy is too much for me, I was just dealing with a lot.” I say.

“Now you're staying with his mother? what if he comes there then what? are you going to act somehow towards each other?” My mom asks.

“I haven't thought of that..” I say.

“Amidst all of that, you're always crying. These are not the eyes we're used to, you're hurt Sbanisenkosi.” She says.

“I have something to tell you guys and dad, please don't be angry because I didn't even know this was going to happen.” I say.

“What is it?” He asks, I take a deep breath.

“I'm pregnant..” I say, I hear him heave a huuugeee sigh. I glare at my mother who's just quiet.

“I was waiting for you to tell me.” She says, she knew? how..

“I'm sorry, i didn't mean to. I don't know how I'm going to deal with this..” I say.

“Does he know?” Dad asks, I shake my head.

“He doesn't.” I say.

“When are you planning on telling him? he should pay damages. I don't know what is wrong with you to be honest, are you even ready for a child? i know this wasn't part of your future plans but you could've protected yourself Sbanisenkosi.” He says.

“I didn't know this was going to happen, I want to tell him but I'm afraid that he's going to deny the baby.” I say.

“Nonsense, you didn't make that baby alone. You're going to tell Nkanyezi today, whether you're ready or not. You won't be alone as if you made this baby alone.” Mom says getting and walking off.

“Are you ready for a child? a newborn?” He asks, I shake my head.

“I'm not..” I say being honest, he shakes his head.

“Gonna take some time to take this in, I'm shocked..” He says, where am I gonna start with telling Christopher..
.
.
I just left my parents house and I'm in the parking lot at his workplace. I can't go inside, I wouldn't be here if he was answering my calls. I had no other choice, my mother felt its best he knows instead of surprisingly hearing it from someone else.

I take my phone, calling the business phone. His PA is probably going to answer.. it rings for a while.

“Biyela Holdings hello?” She says, I heave a sigh.

“Can you put me through to Christopher?” I ask her.

“Who's asking?” She says.

“Please put me through to Christopher, it's Sbanisenkosi but please don't tell him it's me.” I say.

“Ouhh hey I'm sorry, I didn't know it was you. Please wait for a second..” She says, I wait.

“Sir there's a call for you..” She says on the other side, I hear shuffling going around and him clearing his throat.

“Biyela hello?” He says, I close my eyes feeling my tears make their way out. It feels like I haven't heard his voice in ages.

“Nkanyezi..” I say.

“Yes?” He says, I sigh.

“I'm in the parking lot, please come. We need to talk..” I say wiping off my tears.

“I'm busy as of now..” He says.

“I hear you but I need to talk to you.” I say

“Come inside, I have a live presentation in 30 minutes..” He says hanging up, I glare at myself in the mirror and fix myself. I don't know why because I still look the same. I take my phone and jump off the car.

CHRISTOPHER

I drink the last glass of water anxiously waiting for her to walk in. These past 2 weeks have been really eye opening for me in some situations and I'm still trying to heal on my own. I need to ask her why she stays with my mother because now she's making things awkward if ever I have to go there.

I already told security to let her in and she's about to walk in at any moment. My PA just walked out. She knocks on the door slowly and opens the door before I respond. My heart beats once slowly, then fast.

“Hi..” She says, I nod.

“Hello, you can come and sit down.” I say, she nods and proceeded to sits down. Is it me or her weight gain is multiplying. I mean, I last saw her 2 weeks back and she has gained this much weight.

“Water?” I ask her. She shakes her head, my heart is breaking because her eyes look like she's been crying each second.

“Coffee..” She says, I nod and stand up. I walk over to the coffee machine and make the coffee for her.  Once it's done, I take it and walk to the desk.

“Here..” I say, she thanks me and takes the coffee. I sit back down and glare at her. Did the breakup really have that much effect on her? I know when she's hurt and right now. She's hurting..

“You said you wanted to talk to me..” I say, she places the coffee down because now her hands are shaking.

“Yeah..” She says, I continue glaring at her waiting for her to speak. She glares at me and plays with her fingers.

“Is there something wrong?” I ask her.

“More like..life changing.” She says, I raise my eyebrow. What is she talking about?

“Okay now you're speaking in riddles, please say something..” I say.

“So..you probably know that I've been living with your mother for the past 2 weeks
” she says.

“Yeah I know that..” I say.

“I went to her the day we..you broke up with me and just confided in her.” She says, I nod lightly.

“Let me leave that, I'm pregnant.” She says, I frown a bit.

“Huh?” I say leaning forward, she nods.

“I'm pregnant Nkanyezi..” She says, I feel so hot..what's going on? Jesus.. I get up and press the remote to open the sliding door, there's no way. I turn back and glare at her.

Everything adding up one by one, if my heart doesn't stop then I'm lucky. How is my ex pregnant with my baby right now?
