MRS BIYELA
Trying to convince her to take the test was very hard but she eventually listened and decided to take the test. She just went to the bathroom right now and I'm sitting here anxiously waiting for her to come out. I told her what to do when taking the test and she'll hopefully follow the instructions. She opens the door after some time and walks out.
“5 minutes to see the results..” She says placing the stick on the bedside table and sitting besides me. She plays with her fingers, she's really hurt. I just hope she's pregnant because this way, Nkanyezi won't have any excuse to stay away from her.
“Why do you think I'm pregnant?” She asks me, I sigh.
“I saw the weight you gained over the month and the past few weeks. You acted exactly how I acted when i was pregnant with Adrianna. You vomited a lot neh?” I ask her, she nods.
“You ate alot and you were constantly moody so I could tell something was different about you.” I say.
“I just...” Before she could finish her sentence, the timer on her phone rings and she turns it off.
“Should I grab it for you?” I ask her, she nods. I stand up and grab the test. I look at it with full confidence and my heart pounds fast.
“It's positive, Sbani you're pregnant.” I say glaring at her, my smile disappears once I see her crying. I heave a sigh and sit besides her.
“It's okay Sbani, you don't need to cry my love.” I say brushing her back.
“Nkanyezi just broke up with me, how can I be pregnant? I can't be a single mother. What do I even know about raising a baby? I'm not cut out for this. I'm a mess.” She says, I shake my head.
“Don't you have your mother and I? you're not alone. You're pregnant with my first grandchild and I couldn't be happier. I want you to know that you're not alone. Infact, you can stay here because I'll be worried here about you if you're far away from me.” I say, she wipes off her tears.
“Pregnancy is a very scary yet a beautiful experience, there's a baby in here that can get affected by your stress. You have someone else to think of now and that is the baby you're carrying.” I say.
“What about Nkanyezi?” She asks.
“He must be told naye angithi? he's the father of this child and he should take accountability for your actions.” I say.
“What if he doesn't want this child? Ma please don't tell him now, please..I want to wrap my head around this..” She says.
“You're the one who'll tell me to tell him when you're ready. I can't force you to tell him when you're ready nana.” I say. She keeps quiet for a while, I need to see Sbani's mother.. this child is incredibly beautiful.
“Do you need some space?” I ask her, she nods.
“Please..” She says, I brush her cheek before standing up and walking out. I head downstairs, so I was right.. I'm going to be a grandmother.

NKANYISO
I'm glaring at Nkanyezi who's finishing his bottle of whiskey. He's been like this ever since he came back. He just told me he ended things with sister inlaw and I fail to understand why.
“Can you stop?” I ask him, he shakes his head. My brother has been crying, his eyes are so red.
“That's enough alcohol for today, drinking won't fix anything buti wam.” I say trying to snatch the bottle from him but he holds onto it tightly.
“You're the one who broke up with her angithi? she didn't break up with you. Don't do this to yourself mahn.” I say.
“Maybe I should've given her another chance instead of giving up on her.” He says stattering, i heave a sigh.
“You know why you broke up with her, it's too late for regrets now. She's probably drowning in her own sorrow. Suffering a heartbreak...” I say, he heaves a sigh and places the glass down.
“Can we go to the Red Room?” He asks, I shake my head.
“That's where you and her met so what are you going to do there?” I ask him.
“I need to go out, clear my mind and forget about her.” He says knowing very well that it is impossible.
“You're not serious and you're not going there.” I say handing him a bottle of water, he throws it where God knows and I sigh.
“Rather be angry at me because you're gonna do something you might regret later on.” I say.
“She called me and I didn't even answer her call, she must be thinking that I moved on already.” He says.
“Go sleep, you'll wake up with a clear mind.” I say patting his shoulder and walking upstairs. I head to my bedroom and grab my phone, I actually have so many missed calls from mom. I wonder what she wanted. I call her back and it rings a few times.
“yo Nkanyiso after how many calls?” She asks dramatically, I sigh.
“Nkanyezi is losing it.” I say.
“Hmm? It's understandable because he loves her so much but he also had to think of himself in this situation.” She says.
“He's a complete mess, i don't know how many bottles he has drank but it's bad ma. I've never seen him like this..” I say.
“I'm gonna be staying with Sbanisenkosi for some time so please.. unless she feels comfortable enough to see him. Don't let Nkanyezi come here, the space might be all they need...” She says.
“Why are you staying with Sbani? is she okay?” I ask her.
“She's okay but she can't go to her parents' house because she's scared of her dad's confrontation.” She says, huh? weird..
“Oh..but what if he wants to see you or something?” I ask her.
“We'll meet at a different location, she's been crying ever since she got here and I think seeing him won't make things any better.” She says.
“I hear you, we'll talk..” I say.
“Sharp keh..” She says, I disconnect the call and heave a sigh. Mjolo is not for the faint hearted though, look at Christopher and sister inlaw. Oh I feel for them, can't imagine myself in the same situation but what will people say when I fall for the woman my father molested? eh...
