SBANISENKOSI
It's the following day and I have a banging headache. I don't even know what time we got back but all I know is that I have to be at the Biyela mansion by 10am to complete some of my work. I don't know how but I have to. Even with this banging head of mine.
“I think I'm gonna sleep in, I'll tell you if I have left.” Mbali says, I nod and put on the cute black long summer dress that has thin strips and an open neckline.
“I'm pretty sure Christopher will want me to sleep over at his place tonight so you can leave with the card and key.” I say, she nods.
“I'll notify you.” She says, I put on my black sandals and let my wig go loose. I thought it's my maintenence week so I just did my nails, eyelashes and my hair as well. All I have to say is Christopher Nkanyezi Biyela chose so well.
“I have to go, I'll see you when I see you.” I say kissing her cheek and walking out. Mbali refuses to tell me anything about the man she had sex with. She keeps saying she'll tell me and she doesn't. She didn't even tell Luyanda anything. As for Luyanda, girl has been mizing us like no one's business. She did tell us she's going on a date yesterday so I'm just wondering how that went. I should go see her soon.
Anyways, I walk to my car and jump in then drive out. I can work very well with my nails so they won't have to worry. I had my team deliver the material I'm gonna be using to the mansion. I drive for a while and finally, I get to the mansion and the security let's me in.
I park my car and grab my handbag, I jump out of the car and walk to the front door. His car isn't here so he isn't here yet. He said he's gonna come when he's done with all his work so now, I have his family to deal with. I ring the bell on the door and wait for them to open. The house helper opens up and glares at me
“Oh, hi come in.” She says, I walk inside and she leads me to the lounge where Mrs Biyela is sitting.
“Ma'am..” She calls her out and Mrs Biyela lifts up her head. She smiles a bit and stands up.
“Oh Sbani, hi dear.” She says hugging me.
“Lydia please get Sbani something to drink, it's very hot outside.” She says, Lydia nods and walks to the kitchen.
“Please sit, you'll get started shortly. I just don't want you to start working right away. I mean..this is also your home.” She says, huh? I glare at her. What is she saying?
“I'm sorry, what do you mean?” I ask her, she chuckles.
“You're Nkanyezi's partner right? so his home is also your home.” She says and my heart drops. If Chris told anyone about this then I'm going to kill him.
“Did he tell you that?” I ask her, she shakes her head.
“The day that you said you're coming from the bathroom when i went to the photos. You smelt a lot like him, his scent was stuck on you so I put two and two together.” She says and i look down embarrassed. I can be such a fool sometimes.
“I'm sorry, I didn't mean to disrespect you in your house Mrs Biyela, Nkanyezi is the one who was...never mind but I'm sorry.” I say.
“I disapprove of you guys having sex in my house but for your relationship? I bless it wholeheartedly.” She says.
“It won't happen again, I promise.” I say, she smiles and nods.
“You're a very beautiful young lady. You have class and style as well, I think we'll get along just fine. It's the least we can both do for Nkanyezi right?” She asks, I nod.
“Glad that we get along. Oh here comes Lydia with your drink.” She says, I glare at Lydia who hands the glass of juice over to me.
“Thank you.” I say, she nods and walks away. I take a sip of the juice.
“My team will be working with me today so I'm gonna ask everyone to maybe go into the backyard or something.” I say, she nods.
“There's no issue, we were planning on having a barbecue nyana so we'll go there by the pool.” She says, I nod.
“Okay, cool.” I say, I'm thirsty and I need something stronger than this juice but I can't ask for alcohol especially from my "mother inlaw".
.
.
After about an hour, my team gets here. I'm the interior designer while Mark is the manufacturer, Philile is the contractor and Karabo is the engineer. We're also gonna change some furniture and the tiles as well.
“So they changee the kitchen or you did it yourself?” Philile asks viewing the kitchen.
“I did it myself since you guys weren't avalaible. It's coming out well though.” I say, she nods.
“It's a beautiful house but it lacks so many things. The tiles don't match the walls, ngathi the previous owners didn't care nje.” She says, one thing about Philile. She'll tell you nothing but the truth, whether good or bad.
“Mark will install the tiles in the dining area and the lounge with his people while we work in the bedrooms.” I say, she nods.
“Let's start...” She says, we move the furniture in the lounge and replace it with the new one, the one that blends with the colour of the walls. I don't know where I was taking this dress I'm wearing. Nkanyezi hasn't come yet, his family is having a very nice time outside while we work.
“Sbanisenkosi why don't you guys rest and come get something to eat? you've been working for a while now.” Mrs Biyela says walking inside.
“We're just finishing up, doing half of the work.” I say, she looks around.
“I don't think we're gonna be able to sleep here tonight. The smell of the paint is very strong hey.” She says.
“Maybe you guys may book a hotel or a BnB.” I say.
“Or Nkanyezi might let us sleep over at his place for some time just until you're done with your work.” She says, no.. that can't happen. What about me? I won't spend the next week being scared of going to his place because of his parents.
.
.
We've done half of the work and I'm exhausted. We're done now for the day and my team has already left. I'm in the bathroom, I just finished doing my business so I just walk out after washing my hands. I walk outside where everyone is, except my man.
“Are you okay?” Mrs Biyela says, I sit down.
“Just cramps, I think I might be getting my periods soon.” I say sitting properly by the pool.
I'm ready to go to my man's place and spread my legs out widely. Kidding..
“I wouldn't ever say you're an interior designer, your job is so beautiful haa. Dear did you see how the kitchen looks now?” She asks Mr Biyela who's focusing on his phone.
“Lincoln I'm talking to you.” She says, he lifts his head up and stares at her with a straight face.
“Hmm..” That's all he has to say before glaring at his phone again, Mrs Biyela heaves a sigh. What's going on? I glare at Alex and he shrugs. I glare at my phone and see Christopher's text. I'm not getting up from this chair. He's going to make sure he pulls me to his bedroom. I mize his text and he emerges minutes later.
“Oh my, I thought you weren't coming anymore.” Mrs Biyela says, he shakes his head and sits besides me.
“There's a lot of work at the office, I didn't even finish anything. I just wanted to come home.” He says holding my hand and kissing it. My eyes move to Mr Biyela who's quiet, hai lobaba? Something's wrong man.
