SBANISENKOSI
I don't know how long I've been crying but my eyes are all painful and itchy now. Friendship that always end are very painful, I literally took her as my own sister and she does this? as for Luzuko. I don't even know what to say to him, I drove straight to my apartment after texting Nkanyezi.
Once I get to my apartment, I changed Christopher's clothes and placed them in the laundry while I wore my casual clothes. My dad is going to kill me for taking his car, I don't even know how it will get to him. I make some ice cream sandwich for myself. I'm honestly so down, I knew her nature but to seriously go after my brother? yo. I sit infront of the TV and watch some K-drama. I love me some K-drama especially some thriller and mystery.
There's no use over crying for someone who's not even showing remorse for what she did. After a few minutes, my door bell rings and I stand up to go open. I really hope it's Nkanyezi. I open up and it's Luzuko..
“What do you want?” I ask him, he heaves a sigh.
“That was a mistake Sbani, I didn't mean to give in to her seduction. I just..weakness took over.” He says.
“I'm not the one you should be explaining to, I'm not engaged to you. The only painful thing you did was make Mbali disrespect me.” I say walking back inside and he follows.
“I'm sorry, Reatlegile said she doesn't want anything to do with me. I don't know where she is and I'm worried because she's not familiar with Pretoria.” He says.
“Do you blame her? you cheated on her with her sister's best friend Luzuko and you know that Mbali has been crushing on you since we were in high school. Why did you give her what she wanted so easily?” I ask him.
“I regret everything, I just want everything to be okay between Rea and I. I love her and I want to fix things.” He says.
“Cheating is a very big deal Luzuko, don't expect her to forgive you just like that. I wouldn't forgive you if I were her but the choice is hers after all.” I say.
“I'm here to pick up dad's car..” He says, I hand the keys over to him.
“Tell him I'm sorry, I just wanted to confront Mbali. Our friendship is over and I don't want to see her ever again.” I say, he nods. Someone knocks on the door..
“Come in..” I say, Christopher walks in and my heart beats excitedly because I know my baby is gonna let me confide in him.
“Hi..” He says walking in with some paper bag in his hand, Luzuko glares at him then at me.
“Who is he?” He asks.
“My boyfriend, Christopher. This is my brother, Luzuko.” I say, Luzuko raises his eyebrow.
“You have a boyfriend?” He asks.
“Don't push it, I'm still annoyed with you, I'm so mad that you can't use your brains.” I say, he sighs.
“Hi...” He greets Christopher.
“Sure..” He replies, Luzuko glares at me and walks out. He's obviously hurt but he made his bed. He chose to cheat with my friend and now these are the consequences.
“What's going on?” He asks placing the paper bag on the counter and walking to me.
“What's on your face? Sbanisenkosi who scratched you?” He asks tracing his hand on my cheek.
“Mbali and I fought.” I say, he stares at me for a while before heaving a sigh. He seems annoyed.
“Why are you fighting? aren't you two friends?” He asks, i shake my head.
“So..Mbali has always had this crazy crush on my brother and I always took it as a joke because Luzuko is way older than her. I didn't think she was serious.” I say.
“Today, Luzuko tells my parents and his fiance that he cheated and the person who he cheated with is my friend.” I say heaving a sigh.
“So they both had sex?” He asks, I nod.
“And you went on to fight Mbali?” He asks, I frown.
“What do you mean I still went on to fight Mbali?” I ask him.
“I'm just asking..” He says.
“I always told Mbali to stay away from Luzuko because of the age difference and because Luzuko is engaged to an amazing woman but she chose not to listen to me.” I say.
“So what did she say when you confronted her? did she maybe apologize?” He asks, I chuckle. If only he knew..
“She told me that Luzuko enjoyed it and she's not at fault. She literally fought me hence you see the scratch here.” I say.
“Mina babe, I'm not surprised that your friend did something like this. This sounds like something she'd do.” He says.
“With my brother though? she could've chose any man but she choose my brother? I feel so betrayed.” I say.
“I'm sorry baby, I know she's your best friend and you love her so I understand why you're so hurt. Also because of your brother's actions.” He says.
“The three of us have been through it all together, I got my first period when I was with them. When Mbali's mother passed away, we were there for her and when Luyanda failed her matric. We were there for her, I just don't understand why she had to do this. Crossing boundaries and all..” I say, I'm not going to cry.
“It's gonna be okay, maybe if you guys talk then you can fix things.” He says, I shake my head.
“I don't see this getting fixed, especially after the harsh words we exchanged.” I say.
“I bought you lunch..” He says, i nod.
“I don't even know if I'll eat, my mind is messed up right now.” I say.
“Well you have to eat something. You can't just starve yourself my love..” He says grabbing the paper bag and taking out the food.
“If it's not Luyanda getting rapèd then it's Mbali seducing my brother. A lot is going on.” I say.
“And right now, I need you to get your mind off that. I asked my mother if it was okay for you to pause the project so we can go somewhere and catch a breather.” He says.
“They'll move into a rental house for now. You're not okay and I think working will just mess up with your mind.” He says.
“Maybe you're right. Everything around me is changing in good and bad ways. I can't even keep up. I don't know how to be there for Luyanda and on the other hand, I don't want anything to do with Mbali.” I say.
“We leave tomorrow morning okay? i need you to relax and not think of anyone else for now. Think of yourself and your wellbeing, too much stress isn't good for you.” He says kissing my forehead.
“I said I'd fùck her up if she ever had the idea of seducing you.” I say, he chuckles.
“And you think she'd seduce me and I'd let her? baby come on.” He says, I heave a sigh.
“You're the best thing that has ever happened to me thus far.” I say, I have a lot of mistakes and I've made a lot of mistakes in life but meeting Nkanyezi isn't one of them.
