Deadly obsession ,Chapter 30

SUKOLUHLE

After having such a great amazing day with Zibusiso we drove back home around 20:00.We walk into the house, and I immediately notice a girl sitting at the dinner table with Mrs. Khoza, her husband, and Noma and Zamo. We greet them all, and we all seat down to eat dinner. I try to focus on the conversation, but I cannot  help but notice the way the girl keeps  glancing over at Zibusiso .

Mr Khoza:"Son, this is Khethokuhle," Mr. Khoza says, beaming with pride. "She's the girl I told you about, the one I think you should marry."

Khethokuhle smiles at Maphelo, her eyes twinkling. But Zibusiso  can't bring himself to return the smile. He knows that his father is trying to force a match between them, and he's not interested.

Zibusiso :"Nice to meet you, Khethokuhle," he says, trying to be polite. "But I'm already in a relationship with the girl next to me."

Mr khoza:"I know that," he says, a hint of frustration in his voice. "But she's not right for you. Khethokuhle is a better match for you, and I think you'd be very happy together."

Zibusiso :"I appreciate your concern, father," he says, "but I'm in love with Suku. We have something special, and I don't want to give that up."

Khethokuhle is silent, but she looks crestfallen. He can't help but feel bad for her. But he's not going to change his mind.

Khethokuhle: "isn't that girl young for your age?"khethokuhle girl asks

Zibusiso :"Its not like I'm going to fight with her right?I love her age doesn't matter"Zibusiso says" and age is just a number," he says with a shrug. "What matters is how you feel about each other. I know Iphithule is younger than me, but I don't care. We have a great connection, and I can't imagine being with anyone else."

Khethokuhle still looks disappointed, but she doesn't say anything.

Mr khoza: "What you are trying to do won't work son stop being stubborn ,Khethokuhle is a good ,learnerd girl and respectful "Mr khoza says ,Zibusiso bangs the table his anger is palpable, and Mr. Khoza's attempt to control his son's future is clearly not going over well.

Zibusiso :"You can't force me to marry someone I don't love," Zibusiso says, his voice rising. "I have a right to choose my own partner, and I've chosen Iphithule. Why can't you just accept that?"

Mr. Khoza's face is set in a frown.

Mr Khoza: "Because I know what's best for you," he says, his voice stern. "You need to marry someone who will make a good wife and mother."Mr. Khoza continues, his tone uncompromising. "Khethokuhle is an excellent candidate for a wife and mother. She's kind, intelligent, and hard-working. And she's from a good family. I know that she'll be a good match for you."

Zibusiso shakes his head, his expression incredulous.

Zibusiso :"I don't care about any of that," he says, his voice growing louder. "I love SUKOLUHLE . And I won't give her up for some girl that you think is 'suitable' for me. "You can't expect me to be happy with someone just because you think they're a good fit," Zibusiso continues. "I have to be happy, too. And I'm happy with Iphithule. She's everything I want in a partner, and I won't give that up just because you think she's not right for me."

Mr. Khoza seems unmoved by his son's passion, his expression unchanged.

Mr Khoza:"I think you're being stubborn and foolish," he says. "You're not thinking clearly. You need to listen to me and do what's best for you."

Zibusiso :"What's best for me is to be with the person I love," Zibusiso says, frustration and anger evident in his voice. "You keep saying that Khethokuhle is the best choice, but you're ignoring my feelings. My feelings matter, too. And I'm telling you that I love Suku and that I don't want anyone else."

Mr. Khoza remains stubbornly silent, as if he's hoping that Zibusiso will give in if he simply doesn't respond. But Zibusiso's not backing down.

Mrs Khoza:"My husband, why are you trying to force our son to marry someone he doesn't love?" Mrs. Khoza says, her voice rising. "He's an adult, and he can make his own decisions. If he doesn't want to marry Khethokuhle, then he shouldn't have to. You're only going to make him unhappy if you force him into something he doesn't want."

Mr. Khoza looks at his wife, his expression clouded with frustration.

Mr khoza : "You're not being reasonable, my dear," he says. "I know what's best for Thamsanqa, and and I'm trying to help him make the right choice. This girl would be a good wife for him. She comes from a good family, and she has a good head on her shoulders. She'll be a good partner for him."

Mrs Khoza:"But he doesn't want her," Mrs. Khoza says, exasperated. "He's made that clear. And you're just going to make him resent you if you keep pushing this. You need to respect his wishes and let him make his own decisions."

The two of them are locked in a stalemate, each stubbornly refusing to see the other's point of view.

The dinner ended ina sour way.Mr Khoza left the table angry Mrs Khoza followe her. Noma and I washed the dishes Zibusiso came to take my hand and lead the way to his room.

Zibusiso :"I'm sorry about the way dinner ended," Zibusiso says as he leads me to his room. "I don't know why my father is being so stubborn about this. I've told him again and again that I don't want to marry the girl, but he just won't listen."

He closes the door behind us, and the tension in the air is palpable. I can tell that he's upset, and I don't know what to say to make things better."I just don't understand why he can't respect my wishes," he says, his voice tight with emotion. "I feel like I'm being pulled in two different directions," he continues, his voice cracking. "I love my parents, and I want to make them happy. But I also love you, and I don't want to lose you. I feel like I'm being torn apart."

He looks at me, his eyes filled with pain. I can tell that this is really taking a toll on him, and I don't know how to make things better. I just want to make him feel better, but I don't know how.

Me:"I love you," I say, taking his hand in mine. "And I'm not going anywhere," I continue. "I'm not going to let your father or anyone else come between us. We're in this together, no matter what. And we'll figure out a way to make everyone happy."

His expression softens, and a small smile plays on his lips.

Zibusiso : "I'm glad you're here," he says, squeezing my hand. "I know we can get through this together."

Me:"Of course we can," I say, giving him a reassuring smile. "We just need to be strong and stand up for what we want. And what we want is to be together," I say. "No matter what anyone else thinks or says. Our relationship is between us, and no one else has the right to try and dictate how we live our lives. We're adults, and we can make our own choices."

He nods, looking a bit calmer than before. Zibusiso :"You're right," he says. "It's just hard when a person you love is pushing for something that you don't want. I feel like I'm caught in the middle."

Me:"I know," I say, giving his hand a gentle squeeze. "But we're a team," I continue, "and we can face anything that comes our way. This is just a challenge, and we'll overcome it like its nothing ."

He looks at me, his eyes full of emotion.

Zibusiso :"I love you so much," he says, his voice full of sincerity. "And I'm so glad that you're here with me. I don't know what I'd do without you."

I lean in to give him a kiss.

Me: "I love you Thamsanqa"I say he laughs shaking his head.

Zibusiso :"Don't call me with that name"he say I giggle

"Why?I love it why didn't you tell me your second name anyways"I ask he chuckles

Zibusiso :"Because I didn't want too"I smirk. He pulls me into a tight hug.

.......

..........

I open my eyes and look at the clock. It's already morning, and I'm surprised to see that I've slept so long. I'm snuggled up against Thamsanqa, who's still fast asleep. I slowly extricate myself from his embrace, trying not to wake him. Once I'm free, I head to the bathroom and take a quick shower. Afterwards, I slip into a fresh set of clothes and brush my hair. It's newly cut, and it feels so good to run my fingers through the soft strands. Finally, I head downstairs to the living room.I find Mr Khoza watching tv,he turns and sees me.

Me:"Morning Baba"

Mr Khoza :"Its Mr Khoza to you I'm not your fatger"he says rudely

Me:"I'm sorry,Goodmorning Mr Khoza"I say

Mr Khoza :"Come take a seat I want us to talk"he says ,I slowly walk to the couch and take a seat.

He turns away from the TV, and his expression is stern. I can tell he's not happy about something.

Mr Khoza :"Good morning, to you too," he says, his voice gruff. "I need to speak with you about something."

My heart sinks. I have a feeling I know what this is about. I take a seat on the couch, trying to appear calm and collected.

Me:"What do you want to talk about?" I ask, trying to keep my voice even.

Mr Khoza :"How much do you need for you to leave my son?"

I'm completely taken aback by his question. I'm not sure if I've heard him right.

Me:"I'm sorry, I must be misunderstanding," I say. "Did you just ask me how much money I'd want to leave your son?"

He nods.

Mr Khoza :"That's right. You can name your price, and I'll pay it. Just go away and never come back."

The shock of his words is quickly replaced by anger. How dare he make such an offer? My relationship with Thamsanqa is not for sale.

Me:"You can't buy my love for your son," I say, my voice rising with each word. "It's not for sale. It's not about money. I love him, and that's not going to change."

Mr Khoza :"You'll change your mind," he says, his eyes cold. "I'll make you an offer you can't refuse."

Me:"There's no offer you could make that would change how I feel," I say. "Thamsanqa is the one I want to be with, and no amount of money can change that."

Mr Khoza :"You're making a mistake," he says, his tone"You'll come to regret this," he says, his voice sharp. "You'll see that I'm offering you the best possible deal. You'd be a fool to turn it down."

I stand up, my hands clenched into fists.

Me:"I'm not a fool, and I'm not going to be bought off like some object. Thamsanqa is my choice, and no amount of money will change that."

Mr. Khoza gets to his feet, his eyes flashing with anger.

Mr Khoza :"Then you leave me no choice," he says, his voice low and threatening.

I'm suddenly afraid, but I try to hide my fear. "What are you going to do?" I ask, my voice trembling slightly.

Mr. Khoza's lips curl into a cruel smile.....
