Deadly obsession ,Chapter 29
SUKOLUHLEDo you know the feeling of being at home? The peace of being surrounded by nature, hearing only the sounds of birds and livestock, not cars or trucks? That's what I'm feeling right now. I never thought I'd be in KZN at all, but here I am, in Mtubatuba, a large, quiet, and safe town. It has everything we need here. We arrived yesterday with Zibusiso, Noma, and Zamo. This is Zibusiso's hometown. We're going to spend Christmas here in three days.
When we pulled up to the house yesterday , Zibusiso's mother was standing outside, her face lit up with a huge smile as she saw us arrive. I could tell that our visit was a complete surprise. She had prepared a delicious meal for us, and I have to admit, I ate more than my fair share.
I wake up feeling refreshed, and head to the shower. I put on my floral, dusty pink, knee-length dress and went outside . Noma and Zamo are still sleeping, so I decide to take a walk around the property to explore.
The sun was shining, and the birds were singing.
It is only as I walk around the property that I realized just how big Zibusiso's home house really was. And it wasn't just his house - all the houses around us are stunning, big and beautiful. I had expected to see only traditional rondavel or shabby houses, but these houses are nothing like what I had imagined. They are modern and sleek, with huge gardens and even swimming pools. It is a complete revelation.
I felt a sense of peace and calm wash over me as I walked around, enjoying the quiet and the beauty of the place.
I feel someone's arms wrap around me from behind, and I know who it is without even turning around.
Him:"Good morning, my love," he says, kissing the back of my neck.
Me:"Good morning, baby," I say, smiling.
Him:"How did you sleep?" he asks.
Me:"I slept well, baby," I say, "And you?"
Him:"I slept okay," he says, "But I have to admit, it's not the same without you in the bed with me. I'm so used to sleeping with you, that it felt weird to be alone in that big bed"
He says pouting like a child, and I can't help but laugh.
Him:"Don't make fun of me!" he protests , but I can tell he was only half-serious.
Me:"I can't help it," I say, "You're just so cute when you pout."
Him:"I'm not cute," he says, though he was clearly trying not to smile. "I'm manly and strong."
I shake my head.
Me:"You're adorable, and you know it," I say. "And I wouldn't have you any other way."
Him:"Oh, you're just saying that,"he says, but I can tell he was secretly pleased. "But I'll take it, since it's coming from you."
I reach up and cupped his face in my hands, pulling him down for a kiss.
Me:"You're stuck with me now, mister," I say "You better get used to it."
He smiles, wrapping his arms around my waist. Him:"I wouldn't want it any other way," he says. "You're stuck with me too."
Me:"I wouldn't have it any other way either," I say, leaning into him.
We stand there, holding each other.
Him:"Come with me," he says, taking my hand and leading me around the back of the house.
Me:"Wow," I say, when we reached the backyard.
The backyard is expansive, with a wide variety of animals. There's cows, pigs, chickens, and even a few horses. The animals are clearly well-cared for, and they all seem content and happy. I am impressed by the size and scope of the operation.
Him:"You see these cows?" he says with a mischievous smile, "Soon they will be coming with a trailer to your house."
I burst out laughing.
Me:"Are you kidding me?" I say, "There's no way my father is going is getting my lobola cows and the lobola money!"
Him:"I'm serious!" he says, a twinkle in his eye. "I'm not giving up until you are officially mine."
Me:"Let's not even talk about it," I say, looking away. The thought of facing my father, after how he treated me and my Zamo is much for me to bear.
Him:"Okay," he says, squeezing my hand gently. "I won't bring it up again."
I turn to face him, I feel a rush of gratitude for his understanding.
Me:"Thank you," I say. "I appreciate that you're willing to be patient with me."
He smiles, and I feel a wave of love wash over me. He leans in and kisses me softly on the lips.
Him:"I will always be patient with you," he says, "Because I know you're worth it."
The sincerity in his voice makes my heart skip a beat.
We continue to watch the cows and goats until we finally go back inside the house. When we get there, we find Zibusiso's mother in the kitchen, preparing breakfast.
Us:"Good morning Mah!" we both say in unison. She looks up and smiles at us.
Her:"Good morning to you too," she says."Suku, my baby, please come help me here."
I look at Zibusiso, not sure what to do. I didn't want to offend his mother by refusing to help, but I also didn't want to offend Zibusiso by taking her up on her offer. Zibusiso comes to my rescue.
Him:"Mah, Suku is not at the stage of helping you in the kitchen," he says with a laugh. "Please don't make her work hard in your house!"
His mother lets out a chuckle and shakes her head.
Her: "You're so protective of your woman," she says, shaking her head smiling . "I'm only offering her the opportunity to help, it's not an obligation. But if she doesn't want to, that's fine."
Me:"It's okay, babe," I say to Zibusiso. "I know she just want some help." He nods and gives me a quick peck on the cheek before disappearing upstairs. I turn to his mother and say, "I'm happy to help, Mah. What do you need me to do?"
Her:"Thank you, my dear," she says, smiling. "I'm making a simple breakfast of eggs, toast, and fruit. Could you please set the table while I finish up?"
I quickly set the table while she finishes cooking. A few minutes later, Zibusiso, his father, Noma, and Zamo are already seated at the breakfast table when we enter the dining room. We greet them and begin serving breakfast. I sit down next to Zibusiso and smile at him.
Mr khoza:"So, Sukoluhle, right?" his father asks, looking at me expectantly.
Me:"Yes, sir," I say, nodding my head.
Mr khoza:"Tell me, what will your parents say when they find out you are dating someone twice your age?" he asks, a mischievous glint in his eye.
I nearly choke on my food, caught off guard by the question. Zibusiso reaches over and pats my back gently, helping me to clear my throat.
Him:"Dad, come on!" he says, his voice full of exasperation. "Can't you just lay off the questions for one meal?" Zibusiso continues, giving his father a stern look.
His father laughs, clearly amused by Zibusiso's reaction.
Mr Khoza:"Alright, alright," he says, holding up his hands in surrender. "I'll stop. I just wanted to know."
Zibusiso gives his father a look that says "I don't believe you," but he doesn't say anything else. Instead, he turns back to me and gives me a reassuring smile.
Him: "Are you alright?" he asks, concern in his voice.
Me:""I'm fine," I say, giving him a small smile. "Just a bit surprised by your father's question, that's all."
Him:"I'm sorry about that," he says, reaching across the table to take my hand.
"He doesn't like peace and you know how he is."
"I know," I say, squeezing his hand. "And I'm not upset. Just a bit taken aback, is all."
We share a look, and I can see the relief in his eyes. He knows that I understand, and that we're both okay. We continue eating in companionable Silence .....

ZIBUSISO
After breakfast I take my woman's hand and walk to the car I drive us outside the Mtubatuba town to Sodwana bay that's like 30 minutes .There's a beautiful beach there. The water is crystal clear and the sand is soft and white. There are also some restaurant and cafes along the beach, where we could have lunch when we get hungry. We reach there I take her hand and walk closer to the beach.
Me:"Isn't this beautiful, baby?" I say, looking around at the breathtaking view. The water sparkles in the sunlight, and the palm trees sway gently in the breeze. There are a few people scattered along the beach, but it's not crowded. It feels like we have the whole place to ourselves.
Her:"I can't believe how beautiful it is," she says, sounding awestruck. "It's like a tropical paradise."
Me:"I know, right?" I say. "It's amazing how a place like this can exist just a short drive from Mtubatuba. It feels like another world."
Her:"I'm so glad we came here," she says, turning to look at me. "Thank you for bringing me here. It's a perfect day."
Me:"You're very welcome," I say, looking into her eyes. "I wanted to do something special for you, to show you how much you mean to me. And this place just seemed perfect for that."
Her"It is perfect," she says, and I can see the love in her eyes. "And I'm so glad I have you in my life."
Me:"I'm the lucky one," I say, wrapping my arms around her. "I'm the luckiest guy in the world," I say, holding her close. "You make every day special just by being you."
She looks up at me, her eyes shining.
Her: "I feel the same way about you," she says, her voice soft. "You make me feel so loved, so cherished. I've never felt this way before."
I smile at her words, and feel a rush of emotion. I lean down and kiss her softly on the lips.
Me: "You deserve to feel that way every day," I say. "I promise to do everything I can to make sure you do."
We stand in silence, watching the water as it ebbs and flows, making its own gentle music. The only other sound is the rustling of the palm trees and the occasional cry of a seagull. The moment feels magical, like something out of a fairy tale......
