Chapter 9

Jade 

*It's 2 days before the mission, and we're in the gymn room practicing with Kim. She's teaching Jerry and me while Tim is busy with surveillance.*

Jerry : I'm exhausted now. Can we rest ? 

Kim : Resting is for the weak start again.  

Jade : It's okay. Jerry can rest . I'll continue with you . 

Jerry : Thank you, Lord. 

*He says rushing out and heading for the kitchen .*

Jade : Talk to me . What's up?

*I ask after punching her stomach while she groans in pain .*

Kim : What do you mean ? 

Jade : Your mind seems to be occupied . You have been so focused on practice this week . What's wrong? 

*She throws a mean punch at me that sends me flying to the floor.*

Jade : fuck!

Kim : It's nothing serious. I'll get over it . 

*I get up and grab my water.*

Jade : You don't have to be alone anymore. We are family here . If you can't trust us, then you'll suffer in silence .

*She takes a deep breath and loosens her boxing gloves .*

Kim : It's just that I feel useless.  How could I let him gain access to me that simple. I even swallowed a fuckn tracker what was going on with me . 

Jade : it's okay.  It happened. You have to move past it, but just make sure that it doesn't happen again . 

*Tim interrupts us by budging in .*

Tim : The puppies are here ? 

*Puppies?*

Kim : You mean Jake and Leon? 

Tim : What? Don't look at me like that . I like the name. 

*I smile at his attempt.  He's slowly loosening up, and that's good.*

Jade : Where are they? 

Tim : They just arrived at the airport a few minutes ago and are planning on getting a hotel room.  

Jade : Perfect . 

Kim : Amazing.  Let me go change. I'll see you guys later . 

Jade : Practice with your weapons and try to loosen up when fighting . Your tensions force you to lose focus.  

Kim : Yes, bos.

*She says and rushes upstairs to her room .*

Jade : Recheck everything and get me Jerry . 

Tim : Yes, ma'am 

*He rushes out, and Jerry comes a few minutes later.*

Jerry : You called ? 

Jade : When was the last time you flew a plane ? 

*His eyes shoot up.*

Jerry : How did you know I could even do that? 

Jade : Jerry.

Jerry : OK, sorry. It hasn't been too long. Why? 

Jade : Because we will be in the sky tonight . We're leaving tomorrow morning to ensure that the place is secure . I will be inside waiting for the diamond to arrive, and you'll be on the roof waiting for my command. 

Jerry : Copy . 

*I nod, and he makes his way out . I get up and go for a quick shower to change. A few moments  later, I'm done and changed into my teackpants and hoodie. Forever black . I beep everyone to meet me in the study as I make my way in .*

Kim : You really need some color in your dim life .

*I ignore her and nod at Tim, who turns on the projector.*
