CHAPTER THIRTY EIGHT

Today is the day I have been impatiently waiting for. The elders of this family are still skeptical about everything but I have never been so sure about anything in my life. I'm sure the Mdluli ancestors are going to be confused about me leaving after I just arrived a week ago. Akani's uncles arrived early in the morning and my uncles made them wait outside the gate for almost an hour. I had to beg my father to allow them in before they gave up and left and he said to me, 'that's not such a bad idea'. I asked aunt Mnini to talk to him and after their back and forth, he finally sent for my cousin to open for them and allow them in. I was later called to confirm whether I allow this relation to happen or not. I have been waiting in my room since, talking to Akani over texts.
