Through Thick & Thin
CHAPTER THIRTEEN
The harsh wind lashes against my skin. Nature is also punishing me, for hurting Nkosi's emotions and for breaking his heart. I don't recall summer nights being this cold. Even the trees are restless, their roots barely holding on to the soil. I sink my toes further into the moisture of the grass and lean back against the cold bench. I have been working at Blue Moon for weeks now and yet I didn't know that there was a park nearby. It took Nkosi breaking up with me for me to discover it. And I had hope that I would be alone so I could cry as loud as I wanted, only to find that this park is only a park during the day, and a dating spot during the night. Couples are ambling about, holding hands and looking lovey dovey.
Makes me want to puke.
