Through Thick & Thin
CHAPTER ELEVEN
As we step inside the church building, the congregation is already here, singing along with the choir on stage. I spot a seat right at the back, on the right side where females sit. I nudge Melusi, and inform him that I will be sitting there but he shakes his head and continues to pull me along with him to the front. I'm getting stares from the congregants. They are probably wondering who I am, and those who know me are wondering why I haven't been coming to church. Some may be confused as to why Melusi is clinging onto me as if his life depends on it. He has a ridiculous grin on his face, looking proud as if he has won in life. Mrs Mdluli spots us and mirrors Melusi's face with a grin. She is on stage and she gestures for us to come up. My worst fear may be coming to life.
