The car comes to a halt in front of the gate and right behind Mr Mdluli's car. 'I wonder what he's doing here, so early in the morning.' I say, unbluckling the seat belt. Akani has to go to the office today, he has back to back meetings so we decided he should meet mama now. I sent her a text because her calls weren't going through and Nkokheli said he was with Phumla and his kids. 'Who is he?' He asks. 'He's our preacher. He sometimes comes with his wife to check on mama, I'm not sure why he's here so early.' And what's more confusing is that mama is now better. We both step out of the car, I'm too curious to wait for him to come and open the door for me. Akani opens the gate for me and we make our way to the house.
