UNGENO: MY SISTER’S HUSBAND

CHAPTER 43

NARRATOR.

Qhawe has been pacing inside the rondavel for almost ten minutes before finally sitting down . He knows—deep down in his bones—that what he's about to do is dangerous. It feels like betrayal. It feels like stepping into a fire willingly. But lying by omission is worse, and Ncanezwe deserves the truth… even if it breaks him. Nhlokwemamba clears his throat behind him, a heavy sound of warning, but Qhawe pretends not to hear. His mind is set. His heart is stubborn. And besides, no matter how bitter this truth is, Ncanezwe must know who and what he has been living with.

"Baba, can you please give us some space?" Qhawe says, not looking at Nhlokwemamba. His voice is calm but firm.
