CHAPTER 33

AMANDA MOFOKENG–CELE

Amanda grips the wall with one hand, her other hand clutching the side of her head as she fights for balance. Her vision is doubling, the walls bending, the room tilting like it wants to swallow her whole. Her chest rises and falls rapidly—each breath sharp, shallow, panicked.

"MaNdosi? Mkami?"
("My Ndosi? My wife?")

That's the voice she hears—Mabutho's voice—rough with fear, thick with urgency, calling her over and over again. But all she can do is blink as the world blurs.
