CHAPTER 12
NARRATOR.
Mabutho walks into the house and immediately spots Amanda sitting on the couch in the lounge, phone in hand, scrolling through Instagram. He pauses for a moment, staring at her from behind before shaking his head and walking further in. He leans casually against the kitchen counter, watching her quietly.
"We can leave if you're ready," he says, his voice breaking the silence and startling her. She jumps slightly, clutching her phone, then exhales and steadies herself before standing up.
"We can leave," she replies shortly, reaching for her handbag and slipping on her sunglasses.
