AMANDA MOFOKENG – CELE.
She wears the last pair of her Era earrings—those ones Mabutho bought for her after their last big fight—while pacing up and down the room as she talks to Reneilwe.
"I slapped the skank, Ree. I slapped her! She's been disrespecting me for too long," she says for what must be the tenth time. She's been narrating the same thing ever since they started talking, and Reneilwe can't help but burst into laughter every time Amanda repeats the story.
"Mama? We need to talk," a voice calls from the other side of the door, followed by a gentle knock. It's Mabutho.
