Life now had been nothing but torment. I woke up, daily, with my eyes red and swollen from crying the previous night.

Jama had been suspended at work until further notice. The media rang our phones every second of everyday for two weeks straight after the scandal, until I nearly changed my number.

I couldn't stand people staring at me at work, so I filed for a leave. I sent my superintendent an email and she was understanding. Staying at home was hell but going outside was so much.
I was a joke to everyone, and Jama stayed home, got drunk almost every day and had our house reeking. We were now co-existing, and I felt this time we were on the verge of divorce. Each of us lived a separate life.
