TWO QUEENS IN MY CASTLE 28KABELO
It has been a month now and I'm feeling better. My mind is clear and I was able to think of more important things in my life. I have been looking for second hand cars online and with the help of Bongani, I was able to choose the best one for Ora and I. She's focused on her matric dance planning and she hasn't stopped talking about it since the announcement. She found a local designer at a very reasonable price and she chose a dress that she wants.
The necessary house renovations have begun and I'm happy that the ball is rolling. I'm hoping by next month, I can be able to organize a ceremony for the family when we unveil Ma's tombstone. I'm sure they'll wonder where we got all the money to do all the things in such a short period of time but it's none of their business, especially people from my father's side. Life has been steady and I believe going forward, it'll only get better.

YOLANDA
I never thought I'd be living my best life so soon. Just a few months ago I was struggling and stressing and now, things are looking up. Raymond has used his connections to get me a better job so I'm no longer working at the restaurant, I'm an Admin at one of his friend's workplace. The salary is so much better than what I got at my previous job and I'm able to buy groceries for my sister and brother.
We kick started our relationship not so long ago and so far I'm happy. He's spoiling me rotten and I got to forget about Kabelo and his empty promises. It helped that he hasn't contacted me since so it was minus one problem from my side.
"Are you ready," he asks standing by the bedroom door. I moved out of my place to stay with him.
"I'm finishing up," I say. He is taking me out for dinner.
"You've been staring at that mirror for more than an hour. If you don't want to go just say so," he snaps.
"Okay calm down I'm done. Why are you so worked up because there's still time? Its not like we're running late or something."
"Don't talk to me like I'm your child. This is my time you're wasting and my money we're spending. I have every right to cancel," he yells.
"Oh please I never begged to be taken out to dinner. If you feel like you don't want to go anymore then it's fine. I won't be yelled at for taking time to look the part."
"You should have just stayed natural instead of sitting there for an hour just so you can look like a clown," he clicks his tongue and walks out. I follow him to the other room.
"Did you say I look like a clown?"
"Are your ears deaf?"
"What the hell is wrong with you? You've been acting weird and cold for the past two days and I just don't get it."
"I'm used to my own space. Having you living with me full time is overwhelming and you're nagging. I don't know why you moved out of your place because our relationship was just fine."
"So you watched me move out and didn't say anything? If you didn't want me here you should have just said so," I'm holding tears in my eyes.
"You must learn to read the room. I never invited you to my place but you decided on your own."
"It's fine I'll move out. I just hope no one had been given my room already."
"Finish up so we can go. Stop whining," he says.
"Go where? You think I still want to go to the stupid dinner after the things you've said to me?"
"Unless you're willing to refund me the money I paid for our reservation then okay."
"What?"
"You heard me. Do you think I'm a f*cken ATM or something?"
"You know what? This won't work," I storm to the bedroom to pack my bags. All this was a huge mistake.
"Where do you think you're going at this time of the night?"
"I have a home in case you've forgotten."
"That pigsty you took me to the other day? You call that a home?" He laughs.
"You don't dare talk about my home like that. Just because you got into an accident and got a payout doesn't made you're any better. You were a dog before that and no woman looked at you twice. Don't make yourself better by me."
"Yet here you are, blowing my money like a f*cken gold digger that you are."
"I never asked for your money. You're the one who offered me so please."
"I made you. You won't dare walk out of my life after everything I did for you."
"What are you going to do about it?"
"Try me," his eyes are full of rage.

KABELO
It's late at night and I just can't fall asleep. I've been watching videos on YouTube for the past hour hoping to doze off. My phone rings, it's Yolanda. Her unexpected call makes my heart skip a beat. We haven't talked for a while so why would she call me so late at night?
"Hello?"
"Kabelo," she sobs.
"Yolanda. What's wrong?" I sit up, worried by her tone.
"I need your help. I'm stranded and I don't know how to get home," she continues sobbing.
"What do you mean? Where are you now?"
"I'll send you my location. Please come pick me up."
"I don't have a car, Yolanda."
"Please Kabelo make a plan. I'm cold and I'm scared that I'll get raped in the streets or worse, killed."
"Alright send me the location I'll make a plan."
I quickly get dressed and request an Uber. I get there and find her in the street. What is she even doing there because I know where she stays and this isn't the place. She's shivering, I take off my hoodie and give it to her.
"What's going on?"
"I'm sorry to bother you so late at night. I didn't know who else to call for help."
"Are those bruises?" I lift her face up and she has been beaten badly.
"It was Raymond," she cries. I asked the Uber guy to wait so we can go back home. We get there and I offer her a cup of tea to keep warm.
"You can sleep here tonight."
"Thanks. I know I don't deserve your kindness after what I did to you."
"It's okay I'm over that. I couldn't have let you sleep in the street just because things didn't work out between us.
"I just want to rest. Is it okay if I go lie down now?"
"Yeah sure. Let me go prepare the bed for you," I say.
"Prepare the bed? Am I sleeping in the spare room?"
"You'll sleep in my mom's room. I'm not sharing my bed with you after everything that's happened. I'll make sure you get home safe tomorrow and if you want I'll walk you to the police station to press charges for Raymond."
