abo has been crying and she has been suffocating , I called nkanyezi and he said he is on his way .
we haven't fixed things or spoke since that day , he only came when he visited abongile and all that .
Abongile was now quiet , someone knocked on the door . I went to open , it's nkanyezi .
him:where is the baby ?
me:in her nursery .
he rushed there . I followed him .
he carried abongile .
him: she's quiet what's wrong ?
he asked looking at me with his now red eyes , that scream anger .
me: I don't know nkanyezi , she was crying not so long ago .
I said as tears made their way down .
he checked the pulse .
him:**** , come .
he said rushing out , I followed them .
he threw his car keys to me .I catched them then went to the driver's side and he went to the passenger.
I brought the car to life and drove off in high speed .
him:drive miranda , drive !
me:I am driving nkanyezi !
I shouted , my tears are blurring my version .
him:her pulse is not beating, there's something wrong .
In a matter of minutes we were at the hospital , he rushed inside holding abo. I sat in the car crying .
When I finally gathered the courage which was after an hour or so I walked inside the hospital .
nkanyezi is with the doctor , I walked to them .
doctor:Mr. and Mrs. Zungu I'm so sorry to have to tell you this. We've done everything we can to try and save your baby, but unfortunately, abongile has passed away.
The cause of death appears to be Sudden Infant Death Syndrome, or SIDS. This is a condition where a baby dies suddenly and unexpectedly, and despite our best efforts, we can't always determine the exact cause.
I know this news is devastating, and I want you to know that we're here for you. We'll do everything we can to support you through this difficult time.
Please know that this is not your fault. SIDS is not caused by anything that you did or didn't do. It's just a tragic and unexpected event.
We'll make sure to answer any questions you have and provide you with any support you need. We'll also make sure to take care of any necessary arrangements.
Once again, I'm so sorry for your loss.
he brushed our shoulders and walked away . nkanyezi fell on the floor with his knees as tears made their way down .
I swallowed hard and my tears streamed down .
me: DOCTOR YOU MADE A MISTAKE !
I shouted , my lips trembling ...
I wiped my tears but they kept on falling , I saw the nurses transporting the baby in a bassinet covered with a small shroud .
I wailed as I ran to them trying to grab the bassinet .
Someone held me from behind so tight , it's nkanyezi .
he hugged me and I cried in his arms .
him:shh , miranda it's okay .
I cried louder shaking my head , it's not , it's not okay!
me: I WANT MY BABY ! ABO WAKE UP NANA , IT'S YOUR MOTHER ! WAKE UP NANA PLEASE !
I wailed . nkanyezi held me tighter . he took out his phone and made a phone call .
after a few minutes , mason rushed inside followed by tshego .
tshego came to hug me , I cried in her arms .
me:SHE ... SHE'S GONE ! SHE'S GONE TSHEGO I LOST MY BABY !
she wiped her tears , but they kept on falling . She is always the strongest but this time ? seems like abongile died with our souls .
I am so heartbroken . The doctor led nkanyezi and I to the bereavement room .
He gave us some space . I walked to the bassinet and carried abongile , my baby's lifeless body .
Nkanyezi was just standing there starring at us as tears streaming down .
me:"My baby, why did you leave me?!"
I wailed, my voice echoing through the hospital corridors.
"Oh, God, why did you take my child from me?!"
I cried, my body shaking uncontrollably. I buried her face in the baby's blanket, inhaling the sweet scent of her child's skin.
"I should have held you closer, kept you safer... Why did this have to happen to us? To my baby?"
I rocked back and forth, tears streaming down my face, as i whispered, "I'll never see your smile again, never hold you in my arms... My heart is shattered into a million pieces..."
The sound of my anguished sobs filled the air .
