With love, Sibane

SIBANE's POV

"Did you pack everything?" My little sister, Avumile asked sitting on the bed next to me as I zipped my suitcase shut.

" Hawu kantsi angibuyi yini?" I asked with a smile on my face. (Why are you asking like I'm not coming back)

" Not until you find a husband then you're not coming back." My mother said with a smile as she helped me with my bags.

" Then I guess I'm not coming back." I said the smile still plastered on my face as my mother pulled me into a hug.

" I'm joking baby but please be safe and call me when you get there." Naturally the worried look on her face caused me to frown it ruined her beautiful features.

" I'll be fine." I said for the hundredth time as I got into my Range Rover Velair. The drive back to the city was going to be a long one but I needed this break. After running up and down like a headless chicken, renovating a hotel for one of my close long time clients. It was during this time that I regret working with a small team, that being me and my best friend Sharma but then again I'm not a fan of working with too many people, you're prone to have a lot of disagreements.

I was three hours into the drive and had crossed the border gate about 45 minutes ago, when I heard my car make funny noises and without warning. It stopped right in the middle of the road which was also in the middle of nowhere. When I say nowhere I mean, it because the road I was on bridged straight through a forest and the only sign of civilisation was a couple of kilometers away, and the sun was going to set in a couple of hours, and I sighed punching the staring wheel and hoping it was just a punctured tire since that was one I could take care of myself.

I tied my afro in a ponytail on my head as my heels clicked on the ground while I went to check on what was going on with my car. I opened the bonnet and let me just say how evil the universe is for rubbing another reason in my face, another reason of why I need a man because I literally know nothing about cars and I stared at that thing for what felt like hours. The worst part was that there was no car passing by and the roads were dead silent. I wrapped my arms around myself taking my phone out to call roadside assistance but with my luck the screen was blank and the battery was flat.

This seemed like a good time to cry, I wanted to cry right now especially when I heard howling in the distance oh thixo msindisi I hope there are no stray dogs here or worse, people hiding a body or maybe even cannibals! I bolted in my heels straight into my car and locked the doors, keeping tabs on the time from the watch on my wrist. (Jesus Christ)

" Oh Jehovah ngicela kungafeli esigangeni, even worse Thixo I can't die a virgin." I sighed remembering my mother's words and I could already see her now telling me that she had told me so. ( Oh Jehovah please don't let me die on the side of the road, even worse God I can't die a virgin.)

" Yati Thixo nawungangikhipha kulenkinga ngitoshada ngijabulise make ngingaphindzi nje futsi ngibe nenkhani." I promised feeling like this was the universe's way of punishing me especially since my mother was soo vocal about her wishes for me to get married and the fact that my younger sister had already introduced her boyfriend to her was not helping. (God if you get me out of this situation I will get married and make my mother proud, and I'll stop being stubborn.)

I placed my hands on my face praying, when a tap sounded on my window. I ignored it the first time thinking it was my imagination because it took everything in me not to cry especially with it getting darker out here and me having no form of protection whatsoever. The tapping got louder as I looked up and lo and behold a man standing outside my car. I lowered my window not trusting this situation completely.

" Hi." I said sounding confused. " Sawubona ntokazi ngabe udinga uncedo?" He asked and for a moment just a slight moment I was speechless at how handsome this man was, but I recovered fast I refuse to become a stuttering mess in front of a guy. (Hello lady do you need help?) " uh yes please my car won't start." I said and he nodded. " Ngicela ungivulele ntokazi." His deep voice filled my car as I blinked twice before it registered in my head that he wanted me to open the bonnet for him. (Please open it for me)

" uh sure." I said pressing the button that opened it before jumping out of the car barefoot to see what he was going to do.

He said nothing and stared at my car poking around and I took the time to actually look at him. He was tall really tall and he had a beard that actually looked well kept, he wore a black t- shirt with traces of ink spilling out and running over his arms that flexed as he bent over my car and I cleared my throat feeling myself getting hot.

" Uh just out of curiosity, do you know what you're doing?" I asked getting uneasy and a small chuckle escaped his mouth, it made me squeeze my thighs together. Geez I felt like a hormonal teenager.

" Yebo I actually do, your battery is flat. Do you have jumper cables I can use to start you up?" He asked and I shook my head no mainly because I didn't trust him and because I'm not sure when was the last time I saw those cables. (Yes)

" Are you sure it's not something else?"

" Yini ngathi unokungabaza?" (Why do you seem like you're doubting me?)

" Cha I just don't trust you." And I didn't like the way he towers over me making me feel like an ant. ( No)

He raised and eyebrow standing at his full height and I kid you not my face was just the same height as his chest.

" Would you rather stay here and spend the night alone or let me help you because I don't see any other cars here." He challenged and my jaw tightened as I looked away. I hated how I needed his help now, I was fiercely independent and very stubborn I also hated how taller he was than me and how he's looking down at me right now like he's dealing with a toddler.

" Fine." " Angikezwa?" ( I didn't get that?) " I said okay it's fine." I said facing him now our eyes connecting. " Cha ngincenge phela." He folded his arms and I wanted to die in that very moment, I wanted to storm off and get back into my car, because spending the night here suddenly sounded appealing. (No actually I want you to beg me now) " Ngilalele." He pressed me further and I sighed thinking of my bed and the amazing sleep I would get after this. (I'm listening) " Please help me with my car." I said with what was supposed to be a strong firm voice instead it sounded soft like a whimper like I was crumbling under him.

He nodded retrieving a phone from the pocket of his jeans.

"What are you doing?" " I'm calling someone to help me with your car." " You made me beg when you also don't have the cables?" I was livid now. " Yebo." He said with soo much smug and attitude.

Yati I hate Zulu man with their attitudes thinking that they are all that in a bag of chips, although he was painfully handsome but still it was annoying. (You know)

" It's okay can you please borrow me your phone. " I said trying to keep my anger at bay.

He raised an eyebrow again.

" Ngoba?"(why)

Seriously? I am going to murder this man Lord have mercy.

" I would like to call someone my battery is flat." I said showing him my phone before he gave me his.

" Kuyobe awufoneli indonda ngale foni." He said and I wanted to kill him and bury his body in the forest. ( I hope you aren't calling a man with my phone)

" Is that your way of finding out if I have a man?" I questioned challenging him as our eyes locked.

" Ngabe siyoyo leyo ndonda ukukushiya wedwa ngalendlela." Our eyes were still connected. ( Then it would be very weak of him to leave you stranded like this.)

"Well maybe he didn't know I was stuck here." I countered.

" Yena ukuyeka uhambe wedwa uyahlanya yini ekhanda? Ukube wawuwami ngabe awukemi la." I could feel my body burning. ( He lets you drive this long out alone, is he crazy? If you were mine you wouldn't be stranded here.)

"Well it's such a pity I'm not yours, and I'm not an object I don't belong to anyone. " I said dialing road assistance.

" Shothi indonda awunayo." He observed and I narrowed my eyes at him as he smiled and before I could think of something to say back the call connected. (Which means you don't have a man) " They'll be here in an hour." I said handing him his phone back with a small thank you.

" Woza uzohlala nami kulengadlangadla yam." He said slipping one hand into his pocket as he gestured to his car. (Come and wait with me in my big car)

" no thank you I'll stay in mine."

" Woza man kune air con futhi ngizokuhlalisa beze befike." He said and I wanted to argue but something told me that if I said no again he would do something crazy like carry me over his shoulder and put me in the car instead. (Come there's air con and I'll keep you company till they come."

" Okay." I said locking my car and he opened my passenger door before he went around the car to the driver's side. The interior was stunning with black leather seats and it was soo warm and I hadn't previously noticed how cold I was. It also smelled good it smelt expensive.

" How long were you stranded here?" He asked handing me a bottle of water that I stared skeptically. " Angikawenzi lutho hawu." He said with a small smile on his perfect face, his annoyingly handsome face. He had these amazing light brown big eyes that shone when he smiled.

" I don't trust you." I said flatly.

" You're in my car now." He countered with the smile still playing on his lips.

" Susa poison." I said folding my arms over my chest the action pushing my breasts up as he glanced at me before taking a sip of the water. ( remove the poison)

" Usujabulile?" He asked and I nodded taking the bottle from him taking a long sip, I wasn't aware of how thirsty I was.(Are you happy now?)

" Usungicabulile manje." He said looking at me as I chocked the water and he laughed. ( looks like you've kissed me now) Suddenly an hour felt soo long waiting with him. I wiped my mouth thinking that I'll drink when I get to my house.

"Ubuyaphi." He asked staring at me. (Where are you coming from?)

" Home." I said meeting his eyes. He had really beautiful eyes the type you wouldn't mind waking up next to but let's not think about that right now.

" Wamuhle ntokazi." He said his eyes still on mine. (You're very stunning)

" Ngiyabonga. " I could feel my heart puttering in my chest and I suddenly found it ironic how when I asked for help from God he sent me a man. (Thank you)
