CHAPTER 3

*INSERT 3*

NYAKALLO.

The judge gave us a 15 minutes break and now we just came back from it. This court case is not going as planned, the copy of the file for Letlotlo Hlalele that was given to the judge last month has loopholes too.

This is a win or loose case, according to me I think Letlotlo will be set free.

He always gets away with his crimes, we have been after him for 4 years, he doesn't spend time when his arrested, it's either 3 to 4 months not more than that and he's a very proud motherfucker I tell you.

The courtroom is full, there's journalists from different companies some are from my husband's firm and reporters. They always do this and he's has been arrested for 3 days but here they are.

Bailiff: All rise.

We all stand up and the judge enters, as soon as she sits we follow suit.

There he is looking handsome, he's not even worried, probably thinking about his next mission.

All the handsomeness gone to waste, Letlotlo Hlalele is a handsome criminal behind the suits and he always gets away with it.

Judge: With me I have the copy from the original file of Mr Hlalele's crimes and there are some loopholes . The SA police provided us with what they found and Mr Hlalele's lawyer provided us with her own file of evidence that Mr Hlalele was not there when the crimes occurred. In our break I've reached a decision regarding this case. Mr Duba.

He stands up, he's a state lawyer.

Mr Duba: Guilty your worship.

He sits back down.

Judge: Mr Davids.

Mr Davids: Not guiltly your honor.

Whuu I hope he goes to jail.

Jugde: Mrs Zungu.

Mrs Zungu: Guilty your honor.

Judge: Mrs Radebe

Mrs Radebe: Not guilty your honor.

Judge: Ms Twala

Ms Twala: Not guilty your honor.

All five of them are state lawyers.

Judge: Ms Nhlapo.

That would be Letlotlo's lawyer, she's the best.

Ms Nhlapo: Not guilty your honor.

Fingers are crossed.

Judge: Under section 174 of the Criminal Procedure Act 51 of 1977 encompasses the right of an accused to be discharged from the offence he has allegedly committed where, at the close of the State's case, there is no evidence on which the court may draw the accused to the charge. I hereby by not find you guilty.

I knew it, ****.

The cuffs are taken off from his wrists and he smirks looking at his lawyer, mxm.

Bailiff: All rise.

We stand up and the Judge heads out, we also make our way out and I go wait for my colleagues near the police car. I'm startled by someone shaking me.

...Hi, where is your mind at?

Me: ****, where have you been?

We hug for a few seconds before I break it.

...Still like to swear?

Me: I can't stop I've tried, wow It's been forever.

We laugh.

...yeah it has been, what are you doing here?

Me: I was attending a court case whuu it went downhill.

...I was also attending my cousin's court case that one won't be so lucky next time, how well do you know the person you were attending their court case.

Me: I don't I arrested him on friday, I'm a CID.

....My cousin was also arreseted on friday, could we be....

Letlotlo: Lesedi lets go, ohh if isn't my favorite CID.

Me: **** off.

Lesedi: You know each other?

Me: I'm supposed to ask you that question.

Lesedi: He's my cousin.

What????

Me: Ohh well I arrested your cousin last week friday.

Lesedi laughs. And I see my colleagues approaching the car.

Letlotlo: And how did that end for you Mrs Majoro?

Me: Mxm let me go, friend I'll give you a call later I have to go back to work.

Lesedi: Okay friend, wena lets go.(You).

They turn their backs heading to their car.
