CHAPTER 57
*INSERT 57*ZAKHELE.
I'm on a phone call with Bheki, one of my friends and he just told me Basetsana is engaged to some guy who even bought her an expensive car. All of this is said to have happened today just 1 hour ago and there's already a video of that engagement making trends on every social media.
Bheki: I'm telling you man she's engaged, Imagine a whole new latest Mercedes Benz C class.
Me: Yeah.
All of this leaves me with a heartache, how could she be engaged to another guy so fast, I mean It's like yesterday when I dumped her and I thought she was going to beg me to take her back but I guess I was wrong.
Bheki: And the guy seems like he's loaded.
Why is he rubbing salt on the wound?Mxm.
Me: Yeah good for him, Look we'll talk I have to get back to work.
I hang up before he says anything, he's just boring me right now and It's like he's rubbing it on my face nxaa.
I pack my laptop, files and lunch box in my bag. I'm not fine at all, I'll come to work tomorrow or a day after cause I doubt I'll be able to focus today after hearing such news. I walk out of the office locking it, head to my car that is parked outside the building and I watch the video Bheki sent me and I drive off heading home.
This feels like a break up and It's not, why wolud Basetsana hurt me like this? arriving home I take a quick shower and wear a jean shorts with a black T-shirt and sneakers. I walk out after that locking the door and drive off to Mondli's workplace. I know I'll find all of my friends there since they walk at the same toy company.
They started it together but Mondli is the major shareholder since it was his idea and money, now It is growing well. And now that It's lunch time I know they are having lunch in Mondli's office.
I didn't think my day would go like this, I park my car outside the building's parking lot and I walk to the company's sliding door. I walk to the reception. I could just walk in but it's the company's protocol to go through the guidelines.
She's beautiful no lie.
Me: Hey sweety.
She smiles and she's so cute wearing a red jumpsuit with a red matte lipstick. My wife is no match to her. I look at the name tag and her name is Pearl.
Pearl: Good day sir, how can I help you?
You can help me by giving your number so that I can take you on a date, Of course I can not say that I'm a married man and soon to be a father. What would my wife say?
Mw: I'm here to see my friends.
Pearl: Okay, you can go ahead they are all in Mr Mondli Hlatshwayo's office having lunch.
Me: Thank you, you look beautiful today pearl.
She looks at me shocked and looks at the name tag with her name on it then she smiles relaxing. I laugh heading for the elevator, press the number to Mondli's floor . When it stops I take a deep breath and walk out to his office. I knock on his door and he tells me to get in.
Mr: Guys.
Mondli: You look like shit.
I throw myself on his couch and sigh.
Me: Ohh really now?
Bheki: Did you look carefully on the video I sent you?
Me: No why?
Bheki: We looked very carefully and you won't believe who's the guy.
Me: Who Drake?
They laugh.
Ntando: That guy we owe R50K each.
Me: What guy, do we really owe someone?
This fools laugh like really laugh.
Bheki: How much could he be stupid?
Me: Ngizak'shaya unye, ungazong jwayela masimba wena( I'll beat you till you shit yourself, don't get used to me).
I know he's still angry because of Basetsana and Lerato. Lerato is my wife he has to get that through his mind and Basetsana is off limits.
Mondli: Come on guys cut it off, she is engaged to that guy we made a deal with when we were betting on her. Who is it again? Kagiso and he betted against it...
Me: What?
I cut him off before he finishes, I remember him now and I never thought one day he will come back. This is betrayal and I'm even sacred of thinking what he will do to us. That guy seems like he doesn't take shit and he said we should never betray him.
Me: He's coming for us.
They al look at me.
