I sat in my chair for a long time, staring at nothing in particular, yet seeing everything all at once, replaying the years of my life in my mind and realizing just how close I came to destroying the very family I once swore I would stand strong for. The weight of my choices pressed heavily on my chest, and it scared me how easily pride and stubbornness almost cost me the people who gave my life meaning.
