The way her voice trembled when she said my name ,the way she looked at me, like she was scared, confused, drawn in, all at once The way she smelled, like fresh soap and innocence
It was replaying in loops in my head, refusing to quiet down.

I parked the car in front of the house and just sat there.
Engine off. Silence. But inside me? Chaos. A slow, controlled storm burning through my chest.
