Holding her hand like that… damn it did something to me.
This tiny girl walking beside me in her school uniform, trying so hard to be brave, yet her fingers kept tightening around mine like she didn't even realize it.

I looked at her properly this time.

Her hair was tied neatly, little white ribbons decorating it like she was some delicate gift only meant for me. Her waist so small, the kind of small that my whole hand could probably wrap around without effort. Her black school shoes, tiny but polished, tapping softly against the tiles as we walked.
