CHAPTER 8

MS MOYO

Ms. Moyo smiled sweetly as she approached Ore's desk.

"Ore, I need to speak with you after class," Ms. Moyo said, her voice dripping with concern.

Ore nodded, sensing something amiss.

After class, Ms. Moyo led Ore to her office.

"Ore, I've noticed you've been distant lately. Is everything okay?" Ms. Moyo asked, feigning interest.

Ore hesitated before opening up about Ngwenya.

Ms. Moyo listened intently, her expression calculating.

"I see," Ms. Moyo said, leaning back in her chair. "Ngwenya sounds...interesting."

Ms. Moyo's eyes locked onto Ore's. "But be careful, Ore. People with wealth and influence can be...complicated."

Ore's instincts flared, sensing a hidden agenda.

"What do you mean?" Ore asked, wary.

Ms. Moyo's smile widened. "Just be cautious. I've heard rumors about Ngwenya's family."

Ore's curiosity piqued, Ms. Moyo knew she had taken the first step.

Ore's eyes narrowed. "What rumours?"

Ms. Moyo leaned forward, her voice taking on a conspiratorial tone.

"I've heard Ngwenya's family is involved in some shady business dealings. They're not as respectable as they seem."

Ore's mind raced. "What kind of dealings?"

Ms. Moyo hesitated, as if considering whether to reveal more.

"I shouldn't have said that. It's just gossip," Ms. Moyo said, waving her hand dismissively.

Ore's curiosity was piqued. "Tell me, Ms. Moyo. I need to know."

Ms. Moyo's expression turned serious. "Alright, Ore. But keep this confidential."

Ms. Moyo leaned in closer.

"There are whispers of corruption, embezzlement...and connections to organized crime."

Ore's eyes widened, her heart racing."Are you sure?" Ore asked, her voice barely above a whisper.

Ms. Moyo nodded. "I'm just looking out for you, Ore. Be careful."

Ore left Ms. Moyo's office, her mind reeling with doubts.

OREARABETSWE

We are sitting in the schools courtyard and I just told Lerato about what Ms Moyo said .Lerato's expression turned skeptical. "Ms. Moyo? That woman is always causing drama. Don't believe a word she says."

I frowned, unsure. "But what if it's true?"

Lerato waved her hand dismissively. "Even if it was, which I highly doubt, Ngwenya's family's issues don't define him. He's a good guy, Ore."

I sighed, feeling a mix of emotions.

Lerato's eyes locked onto mine. "Think about it, Ore. Anyone would lie to break you and Ngwenya up. He's rich, handsome, and crazy about you. People get jealous."

I hadn't considered that.

Lerato continued, "Ms. Moyo's just trying to stir trouble. Don't let her succeed."

I nodded, feeling a sense of clarity.

"You're right. I trust Ngwenya. I won't let rumours ruin our relationship."

Lerato grinned. "That's my girl! Now, let's focus on more important things...like your birthday party next week."

I laughed, feeling a weight lift off my shoulders.
