### **Chapter 6: The Morning After**

The morning sun streamed through the curtains, casting a soft glow across the room as Thandeka sat up, rubbing her eyes. Memories of last night’s dinner with her mother and Siphiwe came rushing back. Against all odds, it had gone… surprisingly well. 

As she shuffled to the kitchen to make coffee, she heard a noise and nearly jumped. Siphiwe was already there, stirring a pot on the stove, whistling a tune.

“Good morning, *wifey*!” he called out, grinning as he turned around. “I figured I’d make breakfast since dinner was such a success.”
