CHAPTER 40
ZINHLE DUMAWe got in. Well, they didn't even knock. We found some girl busy on her laptop with reading glasses on. She was on the couch with her legs crossed on the couch.
Thato: Hi, Ms lawyer.
She raised her head up and immediately her face creeped a smile as she soon screamed her lungs out and left all what she was doing coming to his brothers.
Her: Thato! Tsheps!
She attacked them with a hug.
Pretty: Auntie!
Her: My butterfly princess! How could I forget about you?
Pretty: You forgot about me?
Her: Never!
She kisses her all over the face. Thato cleared his throat.
Thato: Baby sis meet my woman, Zinhle and baby she's Keitumetse... my little sister.
Keitu: Is she the reason why you've been hiding yourself? Mxm I hate her.
Me: Whooah you don't even know me.
Keitu: I do. You're Zinhle, my brother's girlfriend who has been keeping him away from his family. Mo visits, no calls! nothing and all because of you.
Thato: Now I won't stand your insults to my woman Keitumetse.
Keitu: Ohh sorry your majesty. I'm so sorry but I know truth hurts.
I just stared at her blankly. Tshepi made his way to the couch followed by his daughter. She busted into laughter startling Thato and I.
Keitu: Just kidding! T will never forget about us, he just forgot to visit.
I don't know whether to smile or what.
Keitu: Oh, Zinhle come on, take the joke and loosen up. Well, can I call you Hlehle? my friend is...
Thato: No you can't, I'm the only one calling her that so nope.
Keitu: But I asked her not you Thato.
Thato: I know, but I answered you.
He pulled me to the couch. We sat beside each other while Keitumetse cleared her books and sat down.
Tshepi: Won't you offer us any drink?
Keitu: Nope, you know your ways around here. This is your home too, isn't that why you didn't knock?
Thato: Where's your father anyway?
Keitu: He's still your father Thato... he had gone to run few errands.
Thato: I just wanna tell him something. We're not staying.
She looked at me and back at Thato before facing Tshepiso.
Keitu: Which is?
Thato: That's for me to know and for you to never find out.
We chuckled. She poured me and Pretty a drink busy saying Thato and Tshepi aren't guests and stuff mxm I think I like her. No I love this girl, she's crazy. We had a light chat after an hour or so Thato's father arrived. His seriousness and intimidating look assured me that his definitely his dad well not that only, he's dazzling hot! He doesn't even look old.
Him: What's going on here?
Thato: Good afternoon to you too Booysen.
Him: Tshepiso?
Tshepi: It would be better if we talk privately papa.
He nodded...
Him: What was your name again?
He asked looking at me.
Me: Zinhle. Zinhle Duma.
He nodded and led the way to the private place followed by his two sons.
Keitu: Sooo girl!
Me: What?
Keitu: What's your story? Who's this Zinhlehleee girl?
I laughed joined by her. Pretty was more focused on Keitu's phone.
THATO BOOYSEN
Father: Ohh so now you desperately need me?
Me: No I don't...
Tsheps: Yes we do dad... we do need you.
Me: You do... I don't.
Father: I see you'll never change.
Me: I can never, Booysen, not for you, never.
Yhe room was filled with silence..
Me: I just came to tell you that you gotta do something, I'll soon get married to her.
Father: To whom will we pay lobola Yhato? You just said she has no one.
Me: And that's where you get in... find any Duma member, there's no way Hlehle can't be having extra relatives.
Father: Now you sound like you're ordering me around.
Tsheps: We sincerely ask you papa.
Father: You do Tshepiso.... but he doesn't. How long have you been with this girl?
Me: Her name is Zinhle in case you forgot.
Tsheps: They've been together for three months.
His eyes pops out. It's not like I'm asking Zinhle to marry me this instant! I just want to him to find her family so in case in the next few months when I feel like I'm ready for the big step, I'll be able to locate them.
Father: Three months?
Me: Old man will you relax? I didn't say I'm marrying her now geez.
Tsheps: No, Thato that's enough! You're disrespecting him way too much.
Me: Enough? Did you say that word when he was abusing mom? No, you didn't! Tshepiso, we don't have a mother now all because of him! I'll never, ever forgive him well let alone respect him! Respect is earned not demanded.
I clicked my tongue and stormed out. As long as he met Zinhle and heard what I wanted to say.
Me: Zinhle as'vaye. (let's go)
Keitu: Already?
Me: Yeah I can't stand your father Keitu.
I kissed her cheek. She hates that since she claims to be an old girl with just 20 years old, she's doing her second year.
Keitu: Okay. I'm glad to meet you sis Zee.
Zee: Same applies Keitumetse.
Keitu: Please call me Keitu.
Me: Okay, enough... let's get to the car Zinhle, come on Pretty.
She sulked standing up.
Me: Wena, Tshepiso we're leaving you behind if you don't show yourself up in 2 minutes!
I shouted heading out.
Zee: Babe what's going on? I thought we're...
Me: Nothing's going on. I told you mos we're not sleeping over that's why we didn't take our clothes right?
Zee: We just stayed for what? About 2 hours.
Me: So? if you wanna stay then fine!
I got the car. Tsheps came out with Pretty in his arms. They got at the back and Zinhle got in the passenger seat.
ZINHLE DUMA
Okay what happened back there wasn't really cool. I wonder what went down. I'm now chilling alone waiting for him and Tshepi to get back. We arrived earlier and they immediately left saying they got things to do. I just tucked Pretty in, she's fast asleep....
I wiped my tears as I thought of what that girl said. Thato has an explanation to do... how could he do this to me?
