CHAPTER 30
ZINHLE DUMAI changed into my short tight white dress and white sneakers. Thato just told me to get ready so he can “show” me the place he went to yesterday. Well, if that's the case, I wouldn't mind because I'm still thinking he went to get laid.
Thato: Done?
Me: Yeah.
Thato: Finally!
Me: Hawu, baby?
We both laughed as we headed out. He drove for much long with light chats between.
Me: Kanti, when are we getting there?
Thato: Almost.
He turned and drove much shorter before stopping the car. I looked at him confused, this can't be the place he slept at...
Me: And then?
Thato: This is it.
Me: Thato! This is a forest.
Thato: Looks like it, but it's not....
He got off the car and came to my side to open the door for me.
Thato: Come on, babe.
Me: Hhayi Thato...
I said, holding his hand as I stepped out of the car. It's so quiet here, only the wind and birds can be heard. I held on to his arm for dear life.
Thato: Relax, mami, you will love this.
We walked through the trees and before I know it we got out of those trees that looked like a forest and reached the biggest rock right under the biggest tree which was surrounded by the beautiful green grass with beautiful flowers and butterflies flying around. I looked further. There was a waterfall a bit far from where we were standing. I gasped, looking at him.
Me: Thato, you slept here?
Thato: Not that I slept at all, babe..... I didn't sleep.
Is that why he looked so exhausted? I thought it's because of a püssy he had all night.
Thato: Come on.
He held my hand and we both sat on that big rock. He wrapped his arm around my shoulder as I placed my head on him. We both kept the silence for few minutes, I closed my eyes feeling the wind passing by with the sound of waterfall... it's just peaceful.
Thato: You feel that?
Me: What?
Thato: The silence, the peace.
Me: Yes, I love it...
Thato: Wait for the sunset, shït the view is breathtakingly beautiful.
I just smiled with my eyes closed. The fact that he slept here still brings fear in my heart. Yes, it's beautiful, but I'm not sure if it's a good place to sleep.
Thato: Tshepang was the one who brought me here, who introduced me to this place.... after losing our mother, we came here and spent two days without saying a word to each other, just drink after drink... a smoke after a smoke.
Me: ....
Thato: Then he got shot, I came here alone...
He kept quiet and swallowed. I looked up at him. He had his eyes straight at the waterfall. They were not filled with pain only but with tears as well.
Thato: It wasn't easy since this place was reminding me of him. I swear I wanted to take my life too since I promised to always protect him till the last breath of my life but the fact that we didn't find his murderer I had to dig in and find that mf.
Me: But Tshepiso found him, babe.... you can still fight for him.
He chuckled, shaking his head.
Thato: It's not actually “him”.... it's Tshepiso's baby mama.
Me: What?
Thato: Yes, I wanted her to pay for Tshepang’s death, but I can't.
He still kept his eyes forward after saying that a tear dropped, followed by another.
Thato: I can't fight for him, Hlehle. I'll lose Tsheps as well. I can't afford to lose him, too.
He wiped his tears and laughed softly.
Thato: I can't believe he's choosing her over us.
Me: I'm not following...
Thato: I told Tshepiso that I'mma make that baby mama of his pay, but he instead stopped me from doing so and threatened that if I do so, he'll distance himself from me... no, in fact, he will cut me off his life.
Me: What? he's crazy.
Thato: He knows I'm nothing without him, that's why he's making such threats....
I pulled him into my arms as I saw he couldn't hold on anymore.... he broke down, crying his eyes out. I love it that he gets to be weak around me. He can cry his heart out to me even though we haven't dated for much longer.
TSHEPISO BOOYSEN
Me: Portia.
I said after swiping on my phone, answering the call from her.
Portia: I just wanted to know if you traveled well.
Me: Mamela wena, just because we have a child together, it doesn't make us friends or lovers. Know your limits, woman.
I'm still mad at myself that I hurt my own brother because of this, b!tch! I hate myself for what I did to Thato and Tshepang's justice. I'm not good enough for both of them, what kind of brother am I?
Portia: I just wanted to thank you for protecting me from Thato's wrath.
Me: Well, I did that because of my daughter Portia. She loves you and still needs you, so don't even think of it.
ortia: Ohh...
Me: Yeah.
I cut the call and sighed. A waitress came my way and greeted me with a small voice bowing.
Her: What would you like to have, sir?
I looked at her name tag, and it indicated “kyler”... yes, she's a colored kinda girl, slim but not too much with small boobs and short.
Kyler: Aren't you ready to place an order?
Me: I am. I would like to have your numbers, you have em?
Kyler: *blushs* Sir ple....
Me: Tshepiso.... it's actually Tshepiso.
Kyler: Tshepiso, please place your order, I have tables to attend.
She's too innocent for my liking... she's just too beautiful.
Me: Get me a beer.... Heineken.
Kyler: We only serve whisky and wine, sir.
Dang, I should've checked the menu.
Me: Get me whisky then.... Kyler.
She smiled and disappeared off my sight. She's too gorgeous man!
THATO BOOYSEN
After spending our time at “the secret” spot. Zinhle and I made our way to Spur and had our dinner. I just don't get how I get weak and vulnerable around her. It just feels so strange.
Zinhle: Baby I'mma use the bathroom real quick, okay?
Me: Ohh, sure, mami.
She smiled and kissed my cheek before disappearing off to the toilets.
“I knew you were dating her. Thato how could you not fall for me but for her?”
I looked up from my phone, and our eyes met.
Me: Melow?
Melow: You never took me to places like this, so obviously you're dating her.
Me: So? nna le yena zanka ra sign “no strings attached” document or some shit.... you and I had a deal, Mamello.
Melow: Well, that deal made me pregnant.
I laughed...
Me: Okay, try another trick! That's never gonna work with me. We both know I use protection, and I check it everytime Mamello so please don't.
I stood up and put a few notes on the table. Hlehle naye is taking too long, man. I walked to check on her only to meet her on the way, I pulled her hand and walked to male toilets.
Zee: Babe, what are you....
I shut the door and locked it, already pinning her against the door, and smashed my lips against hers... she pulled out.
Zee: *whispers* Thato?
I ignored her and kissed her one more time. I carried her as she wrapped her legs around my waist.
