The tension in the household had reached a breaking point. Sipho’s silence had turned to cold indifference, and the sisters-in-law’s whispers had grown into open hostility. Thandiwe could feel the walls closing in around her, the weight of their judgment and her own guilt becoming unbearable. But nothing could have prepared her for the moment when Sipho finally spoke the words she had been dreading. 

Sipho: “You need to leave,”

he said one evening, his voice cold and unyielding. They were standing in the living room, the twins playing quietly in the corner, oblivious to the storm brewing around them. Thandiwe’s heart sank, her stomach twisting into knots.

Thandiwe: “Sipho, please, don’t do this. We can work through this. For the sake of the twins.”
