The air between Thandiwe and Bongani had always been charged with unspoken tension, but now, as they stood alone in the dimly lit kitchen, it felt almost suffocating. The twins were asleep, and Sipho had left for a late meeting, leaving the two of them in a rare moment of solitude. Thandiwe busied herself with washing dishes, her hands moving mechanically as she tried to ignore the weight of Bongani’s gaze on her.

Bongani: “Thandiwe,” 

He said softly, breaking the silence. His voice was hesitant, but there was an intensity in his tone that made her pause. She turned to face him, her heart pounding in her chest.

Thandiwe: “What is it, Bongani?”
