CHAPTER [ 35 ]

l saw how shocked she was when she saw me so l had to explain that l got a call from Khabazela two days ago him asking me to be his partner for Valentine's day and Langa didn't even want to here any of it but l told him how me and khabazela where close friends well before Lelethu came in highschool l kind of forgot about him . So him asking me to be his partner just warmed my heart he still regards me as an old friend , Langa reluctantly agreed and his the one who bought me this long white dress (chuckles) but lm not complaining since l look jaw dropping in it.

Anyways l also apologized to Khethokuhle and Scelo for my previous behavior ...l don't even know what was wrong with me . You know l haven't seen Lelethu l wonder where she is.

Yola : Guys has any of you seen Lelethu ?

Scelo : no

and the others shrug , l wonder

"EVERYONE TO THE HALL"

We are told

Danger : awuze keh it's time to get down Le smathatha saka (grinning)

Khabazela : (laugh) ungasi hlambalazi please , Oratile um'bambe loh angaze aphuke eshaya ama get down akhe .

We all walk out heading to the wall.

NARRATED

The learners get to the hall and they're all taken by how beautiful it looks . Dim red light , red carpet and by the stages there are two crowns on top of the table for those who will be named the best dressed KING & QUEEN of the night . Then there a corner where food is at since the hall is really big at the front they've put some chairs so learners can sit . Then at the far back it's where they'll be doing ama "get down" .... It's really nice .

KHETHOKUHLE MHLONGO

This has to be the coolest school , l mean does your school do this on special occasions? l don't think so .I'm taken by the dim lights everyone takes their seats and as the principal was about to talk every one's head turns to the door as we hear giggles coming from that side ....And guess what Lelethu enters wearing a maroon suit and heels with her braids tied up and the guy next to her is also wearing a maroon suit . l must say she nailed this.

"Please take your seats so l can proceed"- principal

They both settle and she begins with her speech and what not and other teachers also say a few so l guess we've been seated for an hour now and l think lm hungry as l hear my stomach growl .

Scelo : (whispers) ulambile ma'Mhlongo

guess he heard my stomach growl l just nod at him giggles and he smirks at me before shifting his attention back to the stage .

Khetho : Tebatso is danger's real name , finally l know now

Scelo chuckles , imagine he didn't want to tell his real name . They walk up to the stage and the principal crowns them and some pictures are taken of them ...they really deserve it . They walk back to their chairs with smiles plastered on their faces and we congratulate them .

"EVERYONE TO THE DANCE FLOOR"

everyone screams as the dj starts the music ...Scelo holds me by the waist and we go to the food section he gives me a sandwich and a can and l thank him . he's such a gentleman .

Scelo : why you smiling like that

Khetho: (giggles) just that you so uhm..

Scelo : romantic?

Khetho: no a gentleman Majola (smiles)

Scelo: Then what's the difference ma'Mhlongo (smirking)

Khetho: lts ...l

Scelo : (chuckles) cat got ur tongue l see

l chuckle and he goes on one knee , uhm what's he doing .

Khetho: what you doing

His hands travel to his pocket and his fist's on something at this point everyone is looking at us but lm glad the music is still on

Scelo: ma'Mhlongo (smirks) lm not going to bomber you with a long speech but I want you to know that l care for you and l wish to always be by your side to fight each and every battle with you . l want to be there for you Khethokuhle allow me to be your partner , a friend your shield in particular your knight in shining armor . Can you please be my girlfriend .

Wow lm speechless , honestly l think l like him too . so l nod at him with a smile . and within a second he jumps on me enveloping me .

Scelo : oh thank you ! thank you ! now let me help you put this .

he walk to my back and he l feel something cold on my neck . l take a look at it and it's Babi Ball silver necklace

Scelo: with this necklace l declare my love for you , l would like for you to keep it for aslong as you can .

he says still standing at my back

Khetho: (smiles) okay .

Scelo: Now care to dance with your partner .

l nod as he takes my hand into his ...so lm now officially someone's partner not just someone but Scelo Majola who happened to be my friend
