CHAPTER 2
#2YAKHANANI KUHLE MAXHOSA
I look at the time in my watch and sigh it's close to midnight I should be home with my wife and kids but I'm here at the office finishing up a script that should've been submitted hours ago if it wasn't for my drinking brother. I finally send it to the director and get up from the chair powering off the laptop. I walk out the office without even turning off the lights. My wife has been away for months for a movie role in Ghana now that she's back I have to bask in her presence and love her the way only I can.
"Boss there's a message from your father." Levy says as I close the car door. Let's hope it's not another errand for my family.
"What is it?"
"Your older uncle will be home this coming week he wants you there with your wife and kids."
"Thanks for telling me. Remind me to tell my wife and kids."
"Will do sir."
The rest of the drive is silent and my mind wonders of to Migcobo Cembi. The first time I saw her I couldn't believe the are woman that breathtaking. Her infectious smile and laugh although you can tell she's miserable she still smiles and laughs. Everytime I pass by that pack I always see her and then I found out she's cousins with Njabulo a girl my brother used to sleep with but I still wanted her.
The car comes to a halt inside my garage. I take my bag and get out going to the door leading inside the house. I find my son going through the fridge. He smiles when he sees me. He's as tall as me at just 16.
"Daddy why didn't you bring food."
"You have school tomorrow KJ you should be sleeping."
"I was tata but then I got hungry. Did you finish the script?"
"Yes I'll ask the director to forward it to you. Goodnight. "
"Heads up Mama is mad as hell."
I laugh walking up the stairs. I missed her walking inside my bedroom her sweet scent graces my nostrils. I quickly take off every clothing on me and get inside the covers. I groan when I feel her naked body come in contact with mine. I kiss her back taking in her scent.
"I'm mad Kuhle."
"I know baby I'm sorry okay."
"Show me how sorry you are."
She says pushing her but to me. I chuckle shaking my head. This one things she's sly.
MIGCOBO CEMBI
When I got home everyone was already in bed. I was greatful for that. I didn't wash the dishes I just came straight to my room and packed everything that belongs to me even though there isn't that much of things. I woke up around 7 in the morning. They will wake up any minute now. I've taken a bath I'm ready for Mr Levy to come and pick me up. I look at the black card I was given by him I can't even say his name.
The man is old besides his age he is an icon to many. I can't disrespect such a man by calling him by his name. I get up from my bed when I here a hooter outside one of my two lagguge suitcases is already outside. Less work for me. I walk out of my bedroom thinking of ways I'm going to tell these people that I'm moving out but then the suitcase is statement enough.
I have to save some money for rainy days and also get myself a job it doesn't matter which kind as long as I have something to fall back on should that man fmdrol me cold kn the floor. Married man are known for that and I'm not about to be dropped high and dry. I bump into Njabulo and her mother my aunt in the lounge.
"And then what's with the suitcase? We're waiting for breakfast make it fast I have to be in an audition by 11." Njabulo says looking at me with snapped eyebrows. I release a sigh gathering the strength to say this without sounding smug about it.
"Sorry you'll have tk make your own breakfast. I'm moving out I got myself a place to stay." I say opps guess I couldn't help but be smug about it. Njabulo and her mother laugh exactly when the second car hoot comes.
I just turn almost dramatically okay dramatically I'm finally leaving this place thank God I took that walk yesterday evening. I feel them hot on my tail as I walk out of the gate to the waiting car. Levy gets my door and both my suitcases going to the boot where he puts them in.
"Migcobo where do you think you're going?!! Hey wena whose car is this?!!" I keep my mouth shut and close the door as Levy gets in closing his as well then can't see anything from outside but I can see them perfectly as they shout hauling insults at me but at last I'm free from their shackles. Bloody opportunists.
I'll never understand how my parents trusted this woman to take care of me and their legacy. She has misused their money ran their businessman down and now they are only left with crumbs. All my money gone for what? I also don't know. I'm mad as hell and once I can afford I'm going to drag my aunt to the mud she'll wish she'd killed me when she had the chance too.
"Do you want to start somewhere miss?" Levy asks snapping me out of my head. I sigh shaking my head I need to get those people out of my head if I want to enjoy this little freedom.
"Yes the mall please." He nods driving off. I'm back in my head thinking about my parents I had the best childhood ever. My birthdays were always memorable especially the last one. We were at Lubhacweni where my father is from. My maternal aunt made her famous pies and then we drove to Durban for the weekend. Maybe I should visit them when I get a chance I last saw them almost a decade ago.
"We're here miss."
"Thank you bhut'Levy."
He smiles nodding his head. I walk out of the car and go straight to the elevator I need groceries and toiletries and maybe some few clothings.
