Sabotage

"I'm sorry I was a little delayed sir" Mthoko says nervously as he sits at the backseat of a car with his handler, Landlord Phakathi. They always meet in the dark tunnels and bridges and tonight is no different. Just like he has always done Mthoko parked his car in a little distance to his handler's car. In front of this car is another one that has three bodyguards wearing black suits standing outside.

It is few days after he and his wife had a rather tense conversation that night. Things haven't been the same at home since then. Mthoko is often home late since he must sometimes go to the safe house where he's keeping Phuthuma, to check if she's okay and that doesn't go unnoticed at the Sibisi mansion.

Phakathi looks very calm but it is hard to read him as he keeps a straight face which always makes him very unpredictable and quiet frankly makes Mthoko nervous, all the time. He pulls a file on the side of his door and gives it to Mthoko. "Those are the targets" he says as he looks forward, not to the man next to him. Mthoko takes the file and opens it. He reads for a moment in quiet, obviously waiting for the Landlord to brief him on the mission. The files has about three people who have pictures next to their respective names. He turns the page and there's more information on these targets he's been handed.

"Those men are coke dealers" Phakathi says. "They are also the ones who will buy coke from Faroukh in 10 days time and as usual, Faroukh will be using your Taxi buddies to transport the drugs to the meeting location. Your mission is to take out the transporters and the dealers. Faroukh wants to raise cash for his people to buy arms from the dealers that we haven't identified just yet, so he sells drugs to raise this cash. Without the drugs he doesn't have cash; and without cash there's no arms sale" he says as he looks at the curious Mthoko who looks at him back.

"So he sells to his fellow Pakistanis?" Mthoko asks curiously as he tries to piece this together in his head but Phakathi interjects, "Look, our country already has it's drug kingpins" he says softly, "Faroukh is just trying to raise cash for his people to come in the country and buy arms from the people we are yet to identify.

He is not trying to start a drug war with other dealers, so he sells to his fellow people because he trusts them. That is why he interred into business with the taxi owners. They help him transport the drugs using taxis, which is off the grid. Taxi owners hire drivers they can trust as mules to transport these drugs to the buyers. They take the cash to their bosses and the bosses take the cash to Faroukh, and then he gives them a cut" he says he takes out his glasses and cleans them. This seems to becoming clearer to Mthoko now as he nods his head.

"Who is his supplier?" he asks curiously as he continues to turn the pages in the file. "It could be people from Colombia or Cuba or anywhere else but that's not what our priority right now" Phakathi says calmly. "Our focus is on the arms deal. By eliminating these drug sales we are buying ourselves time to discover the people behind the sale of arms to the Pakistanis"

It looks like Mthoko is satisfied with the answer as he nods his head before he takes a huge pause. "Uhmm...sir there has been a development with regards to the journalist I had marked" he says with a somewhat nervous voice as he dread looking at his boss in the eyes. "Explain yourself Sibisi..." Phakathi says with a calm voice as he continues to look forward. This makes the nervous Mthoko to pause for a minute as he tries to find a way of breaking this down to his boss. "Uhmm, taxi owners wanted to interrogate her about her source and they'd do anything to get answers. They suspect there's a mole in the association that's feeding the press misinformation" he says as he tries to make eye contact in vain.

"Did I not tell you to take care of this before something like this could happen?" Phakathi asks as he tries his level best to stay calm. He waits for the response from Mthoko that doesn't come so he continues, "What did you do Sibisi?" he asks as his face now changes to being a little serious and annoyed.

"Uhmm...she is in a safe place..." Mthoko says nervously as he takes a look at his now furiously looking boss once again. "But why didn't you tie up the lose end Sibisi, huh?" Phakathi asks as he raises his voice a little bit. "What? I said to you, do whatever you can to win her trust...I didn't say fall in love with her, goddamnit..." he shouts. "She was just a mark, Sibisi...not a mistress. Or you have forgotten that you are actually married and have a family? Now you go around risking the whole mission on a nobody? Damnit" as he looks away in anger.

"Look sir, I know that this looks bad but I will not compromise the mission" Mthoko says with a begging voice. "It just didn't feel right to get rid of her just like that after I put her in that..." he says but doesn't finish her thought as Phakathi cuts in, "Oh but you were able to get rid of your men when they were compromised just like this girl is compromised, huh?" he says as he raises his voice one more time.

Well, that was a counter punch right there as Mthoko doesn't seem to have a response for that, instead he looks away to the direction of his window. "Now look here Sibisi..." Phakathi says with a calmer voice this time, "You better fix this sh*t up okay or else I will do it for you because if this girl is caught you will be compromised and dare I say, the mission too. Is that what you want?" as he looks at Mthoko who looks down as though a person who is shamed by his actions. "No sir" he says with a soft voice. Phakathi looks at him and thinks for a second, "Okay we are done here" he says calmly.

Mthoko gets out of the car with the file in his hand and one of the bodyguards comes and hand him a big black bag that he doesn't open. It looks a little heavy. He quickly goes over to his car, puts the bag in the boot and drives away. After that one body guard gets into Phakathi's car and they drive to the different direction of Mthoko, followed by the second car.

Somewhere else Zikode is meeting Faroukh in the same coffee shop where he once met the police commisioner. It's in the evening and as usual its not busy at this time of the hour during the week, no less. What you see in the other tables are few customers but most are Faroukh and Zikode's men pretending to be customers as well. They are more than likely watching over their bosses just incase things turn sour between the two gentlemen. Zikode knows that Faroukh is anxious since there seems to be someone sabotaging his business so he decided that maybe it's best to bring some men to watch over him. Same with Faroukh, since he doesn't know who to trust he brought company.

"Uhmm...so how are things?" Zikode asks with a nervous smile as he tries to break ice in this tense environment. "Well, things are not good Zikode, okay? Things are not good...What's going on with finding out about whoever is sabotaging me?" Faroukh asks with an angry face as he looks around the room to see if he's drawing attention.

"Sabotaging us...you mean sabotaging us, Faroukh" Zikode says as he quickly interjects. "Look, I stand to lose too on this, okay? I'm not doing it for free...If the goods aren't delivered I lose my cut and I don't like losing money. So we are in this together, alright?" he says as he also looks around the room. "Okay fine, what do you know?" an irritable Faroukh says as he sips on a double of whiskey that he brought with him. Clearly he needed something strong since he's been feeling pressure from the day of the meeting with the dealers few days ago.

"Look, no lead on the person behind the murders of the two people we were hoping to extract information from" Zikode says calmly as he drinks on his coffee but an annoyed Faroukh interjects, "What the hell have you been doing all this time huh?" he shouts with a whisper much to the annoyance of Zikode who doesn't like his business partner's tone.

"Look, it hasn't been easy to track this person down okay?" he says as he tries to keep calm. "Obviously the person behind this is a professional not some amateur and it's clearly someone who knows about this side business of drugs. It could be a competition from outside the province because your product hasn't been sold in the streets. It could even be someone from outside the country. Faroukh, don't forget that you are not the only dealer here in this country. There are people who have been doing this long before you, for many years. The two people who could have clarified this for us are now dead"

This seems to irritate Faroukh even more as he leans forward to say, "Don't you think I know all that you are telling me?" he shouts in a whisper. "What I want to know is, what are you doing it about it? What is your friend, the police commisioner saying about all this?" He looks very irritated and impatient about all this.

"Look, the police don't have anything yet" Zikode says as he takes another sip. "Like I said, the person we are looking for is good at covering themselves. All the incident scenes were properly sanitized and no trail was left. The murders are clearly properly planned in advance which means we cannot rule out a possibility of a mole within our ranks" he says to which Faroukh takes a minute to think as he leans back. "Well then, you better check that my friend" he says. "Find that mole in your association otherwise there will be trouble. My people don't like untidy things"

These words that sound like threats don't seem to sit well with Zikode as he leans forward to say, "Who said the mole can only be in my camp?" as he looks at Faroukh in the eyes. "He could be in your ranks too, you know that right? Now, I will certainly look in my camp but you better damn well make sure that you check yours as well, Faroukh"

Not wanting to escalate the situation, Faroukh decides to take a minute to calm himself because in the end, these two gentlemen need each other.

"Alright fine, I will do that" he says calmly as he takes another sip of his whiskey. "Good, you do that" Zikode says as he looks around at his men sitting behind him and indicates with his head that everything is alright. "Now look, the association had agreed two weeks ago that we should grab the journalist that is working on this story about the recent killings. The aim is to compel her to tell us who her source is" he says as he takes another sip which kind of put Faroukh's mind at ease. He seems to like this kind of idea. "Oh okay, you see? Now we are going somewhere. I like this idea" he says with a smile that says he is impressed.

"Yeah but now the challenge is that we can't seem to find the journalist, it's like she just fell off the grid or something" Zikode says as he bursts Faroukh’s bubble. Suddenly his face changes to being annoyed again, "Oh come on Zikode, what now?" he says as he shakes his head, clearly unimpressed all over again.

"Hey, be patient okay?" Zikode says as he seeks to calm his partner's nerves. "We will find the girl. We are just looking for places where she may have gone, it's just a matter of time before she resurfaces again" he says with a smile trying to allay fears. This makes Faroukh think for a second before saying, "Alright but this better happen fast Zikode. This journalist may just be our last chance of finding out who is the mole is" as he stands up, him along his men behind him. "I've got to go, keep me posted" he says as he finishes whatever was left in his glass. "This is for you my friend" he says as he puts the bottle of whiskey down, to which Zikode finds the funny side of it as he just smiles.

Few days later, Police commisioner Thomas Naidoo had come to see the Captain Dube regarding the case but then oh his way out he asks to speak to detective Mxolisi Zwane in private as they walk to the parking. This ofcourse comes as a little of a surprise to Mxolisi and even to Captain Dube himself but he assumes that the commisioner perhaps just wants to update himself about the case.

Thoko herself is wondering why she is also not called by the commisioner if this is indeed about the case but she thinks Mxolisi will tell me all about it when he comes back. She decides to go to the boardroom where she and her partner usually work the case. She is trying to figure out things that they may be missing.

Outside to the parking lot, Mxolisi is in the commissioner’s car and are talking. This parking is in the underground of the police building so it's not easy for people to spot them and the car is parked in the corner where light is not really visible for any passing car to see who is in the car. If this isn't intriguing for Mxolisi, nothing ever will.

"Uhmm...I know you must be wondering why I wanted to speak to you in private detective Zwane, huh?" Commisioner Naidoo says with a smile which Mxolisi doesn't know how to return. "But I just wanted to get an update on the investigation of the recent killings in the South Coast. As you can imagine, this case has become somewhat of great interest to the public as well as the media. Everyone is anxious to know what the police is doing about this" Naidoo says as he maintains a straight face perhaps to first hear the detective’s response to what he is asking him.

"Uhmm...with respect sir, I thought you were here at the station to get an update from Captain Dube as the man who assigned us to the case. We have been debriefing the him over everything we have gathered so far" Mxolisi says with a nervous voice, visibly still confused by this approach from the commisioner.

"Oh yes ofcourse, Captain Dube has been briefing and he did again this morning...but I'd rather hear it from you. Like i said, this case is priority and I have promised the public that I will see to it that the suspects are apprehended" Naidoo says with a firm and assuring voice which seems to make Mxolisi think for a second. Part of him feels like he's being put in the corner by his senior. Some of the questions in his mind is why then did he call me alone to get this update? Why did he not also call my partner since we are working on this case together? Am I being deliberately isolated here?

"Look, I want to hear from you...what you think is going on with this case" Naidoo says with a little smile trying allay worries in Mxolisi's head. He realises that just may have shown too much on this and he doesn't want to spook the guy.

"Uhmm...Okay, uhmm, so far there isn't anything concrete that we have found accept that there seems to be a deliberate plan to target people who work within the Taxi association" Mxolisi says as he clears his throat. "With the recent killing of the two suspects in this case, we are lead to believe that they were being silenced or someone is typing up loose ends. So only a professional could have done this. How the crime scenes were sanitized suggests that these were not random killings. They were too clean and precise to be random" he says as he looks into the commissioner’s eyes to read his reaction.

This report makes Naidoo think for a minute as though he wants to be careful with his next words. He looks at Mxolisi and says, "Uhmm...detective Zwane, I have read your file when I first learnt that you are one of the people assigned to this case. How long have you been a detective now? 5...6 years?" with a serious face.

"6 years, sir" a puzzled Mxolisi says as he wonders what that might be about. "Okay good, I'll just get straight to it" Naidoo says as he quickly interjects. "Zwane, you have had a great career in the SAPS so far and by the look of things the future is bright as well. You deserve to be rewarded for your service and I'm the guy that can make that happen for you" he says much the confusion of the wide-eyed Mxolisi. "And your son who is what now? 11 years old? He deserves a brighter future but that can't happen with the lousy salary you are earning currently" Naidoo says and its fair to say Mxolisi doesn't what how to react to all of this so he keeps quiet and listens to the commisioner.

"Detective, I can move you up the ranks within SAPS where you will earn better, far better than you are earning now...I have that power" Naidoo says with a serious face. "But if you think that's what you want, I want something in return" he says, which makes Mxolisi curious as what could that be that commisioner is talking about.

"I want the person behind these killings, Zwane...you hear me? I want the people who are causing this panic. This thing is threatening an all out war with the Taxi industry and I would be damned if I allowed to happen under my watch" Naidoo says, much to Mxolisi's relief who may have thought worse of the situation. He smiles a little bit before saying, "Oh well sir, that's what we all want isn't it? To catch the people behind these killings? Well, I'm happy to assist in any way I can sir, to bring these people down and bring closure to the families of the victims"

Naidoo gives a half smile and says "Well, I'm happy to hear that detective Zwane, but here's the thing...I'm afraid that SAPS is compromised" much to Mxolisi's shock. He didn't expect to hear this from his superior. "Sir?" he says as he becomes wide-eyed. "I'm afraid yes, detective. There's a mole in the department, someone is trying to cover this up" Naidoo says with a low voice.

Mxolisi almost falls of the car chair as he finds this shocking and unbelievable. "Do you know who?" he asks curiously. "Ofcourse we don't, otherwise the person would have been apprehended by now" Naidoo says as he interjects quickly. "That is why I want you to report to me, and me alone on everything you find out. You will still work with your partner but any information that you find on your own, don't share with anyone but me, you got that?" he says, much to Mxolisi's confusion as this is so unexpected. This is not what he expected when he woke this morning.

"Now, I don't need to tell you that under no circumstances are to discuss with anyone what we have just talked about. We can't risk this mission being compromised. I want this mole in the SAPS and I want the person behind the killings, you hear me?" Naidoo says with a somewhat authoritative voice.

This leads Mxolisi to think for a minute but Naidoo jumps back in, "Now go home and think about it. I give you 24 hours to decide whether you are in or out." he says with a low voice. "If you are in, then you will write your own ticket to the big leagues. Here, you call me tomorrow, then we get to work. We are running out of time" he gives Mxolisi his card where he can call him. Suddenly he starts his car engine as an indication that the meeting is over, to which Mxolisi nods and gets out of the car. He watches the commisioner drives off the parking lot while he stands there still shocked by what has just happened.

While Mxolisi was down at the parking lot with the commisioner, Captain Dube had come to see Thoko at the working boardroom. This is also not something that she was expecting since there was no meeting that was scheduled with the Captain.

"Uhmm...detective Ximba, can I have a word?" Dube says as he knocks on the boardroom door where Thoko is sitting trying to work on the story board in front of her. She quickly stands up to acknowledge her boss but Dube quickly says, "Oh no...no need for that" as he comes in to sit next to Thoko. "Uhmm...I would like to quickly talk to you about something very sensitive" he says with a somewhat troubled-sounding voice. "Oh yes sir, please...how can I help you?" Thoko asks curiously as she fixes her eyes on the captain. She was caught off guard about this she doesn't know what to expect.

Dube thinks for a second as though he doesn't know how to put it and then takes a deep breathe before saying, "Look Ximba, this case you guys are working on is a little more complicated than you may think" as he brushes his head as though he is worried about something, which makes Thoko anxious.

"What do you mean, sir?" Thoko asks curiously as she shows interest. "Uhmm...It looks like it affects very important people, people bigger than you and me" Dube says with a low voice but Thoko quickly jumps back in, "Like who are those people sir?" she probes, but you can tell that she's annoyed with the half answers. "Look I'm not at liberty to say some things but I am of the view that there's a mole in the department. Someone high up may be involved in the chaos that's been happening relating to the recent killings in the Taxi industry" Dube says as he establishes eye contact with the detective.

This comes as a shock to Thoko as she doesn't know how to react to it. She has so many questions on her mind but perhaps the one that she's eager to ask is why is the captain telling her all this. She keeps quiet and waits for Dube to explain himself and maybe that will lead to some clarity.

"Look, it is becoming difficult to know who to trust in this department. We can't solve this case if there are people who are working against us from within and..." Dube says but he doesn't finish his thought as Thoko cuts in again, "Are we talking about the commisioner, sir?" she asks curiously but when Dube doesn't respond to that question she then makes a conclusion on her own that the answer is a yes. So, once again she waits for the captain to continue with what he was saying but Dube goes to shut the door and then comes back to sit down. This makes Thoko to realize that this is serious.

"Look I need you to do a quiet digging for me, can you do that?" Dube continues... "I mean, independent of your partner. I'm not saying that he is involved in anything or he's a mole but at the moment I'm just not sure who to trust with all this" he says as he looks into Thoko's eyes to see her reaction, which ofcourse is shock.

"But sir, how do you know that you can trust me?" Thoko asks without showing any emotion. "Well I don't, it's just hunch that I have" Dube says with a smile which Thoko returns. "Look seriously I need you to do this" he says as his face becomes serious once again. "I can't risk anyone knowing about this. You will still work with your partner but I need you at some point to do some independent digging and then report to me" he says but Thoko cuts in once more, "Oh speaking of which sir, why did the commisioner request to speak to Mxolisi alone?" she asks curiously to which Dube sighs deep.

"Uhmm...well maybe you could ask your partner" Dube says as he shrugs his shoulders, "But actually that's one of the reasons I'm approaching you alone for this one" he continues, "I don't know why the commisioner wanted to speak to detective Zwane alone. Maybe it's something personal because if it's about the case, then you should have been part of it" he says as he shrugs again.

Thoko thinks for a second before saying, "Alright sir, what exactly is it that you want me to do?" with curiosity in her eyes. "Well, take this..." Dube says as he gives Thoko a cell phone. "I will call you from that phone and you will also call me from it. Don't change sim cards from that okay?" he says with a bit of authority. Thoko takes phone and looks at it with curiosity as she wonders what on earth is going on here. "Your routines with your partner will remain unchanged but inform me what you are doing and then I will give you further instructions" Dube says as he stands to walk towards the door.

As he opens the door he bumps into Mxolisi who comes into the boardroom, "Hey cap" he says with a smile but Dube just nods with a smile without saying anything. Mxolisi doesn't pay much attention to that as he comes to sit next to his partner who looks a little uneasy at seeing him come through the door knowing they were just talking about him.

"Hey, there he is, where have you been? Saw you talking to commisioner Naidoo, is everything okay?" Thoko asks with a nervous smile but Mxolisi seems caught off guard a little that question. "Oh uhmm...no nothing...he just wanted to know what's going on about the case" he says as he returns the smile. "Oh, but wasn't he being briefed by the captain? So why did he need you?" Thoko probes quickly, "Uhmm...I don't know hey...I suppose he just wanted to hear from the person who is directly involved with the case" an uneasy Mxolisi says as he shrugs his shoulders, desperately wanting to change topic.

"And you? Is everything okay? Why was captain here?" he asks curiously as he looks towards the open door. "Oh uhmm...he found me here while I was going through these" Thoko says as she looks towards the story board they have been working since this investigation began. "So he wanted to know how it is going, you know" she says as she avoids eye contact. You can tell that both of them are a little uneasy with having to lie to one another when they have been partners for a little while. It's a very awkward situation they find themselves in as it will be difficult to even look at each other without feeling some level of guilt.

"Alright Mr., are you ready to go because I'm ready to go see my kids" Thoko says with a smile as she takes her keys and coat from the desk. "Oh yeah I'm ready. My son is waiting for me at home, let's go" Mxolisi says with a smile as they both leave the boardroom.

Later on at the Sibisi mansion things aren't that great, ever since Mthoko and Lindiwe had that tense conversation about him not making time for his family. Well, it's not like Mthoko changed his ways but it really has become difficult for him to always be at home or spend a little more time with his family since he had to 'kidnap' Phuthuma. Every other day he has to go to the safe house to ensure that everything is okay. The pressure he is getting from his handler Phakathi isn't helping matters as well as he needs to stop Faroukh and his gang from making a deal on the arms sale.

"Sweetheart, how are things at school?" Mthoko asks his daughter Mbali as they sit in the lounge watching TV after supper. Everyone is here this time as Mthoko himself made an effort to ensure he is home early. It's been quiet a while since they have sat down and had a meal as a family.

"Why are you asking?" Mbali responds with an attitude but she is quickly put on her place by her mother, "Hey, hey, hey...watch your tongue young lady" Lindiwe says as she gives her daughter a sharp eye. "But why? Why does it matter?" Mbali says as she jumps back in. "Dad hasn't been here most of the time, so what's changed now?" She really looks upset as she fixes her eyes on her rather shocked father. "Dad, when was the last time you came into my school games, huh? When was the last time you attended any of school activities, be here at home atleast?" she says.

These questions seem to cut like a knife in Mthoko's heart as he doesn't know how to respond to them. "Uhmm...I know sweetheart, I know that I haven't been here most of the time lately. The thing is that..." Mthoko says but he doesn't finish his thought as Mbali stands up and storms out of the room, taking her laptop with her.

Well, that didn't go so well...atleast not as Mthoko had hoped as he looks at his wife for back up but Lindiwe keeps quiet and fixes her eyes on the TV screen. Mthoko can see that he has no back up and doesn't want to escalate the situation so he tends to her eldest daughter Londiwe and says, "Hey princess. And you? How are things going at work?" He is hoping that this time he won't get a cold reception because quiet frankly that is not what he was hoping for tonight. He just wants make amends for not being here more often lately as he sees how this is affecting the family.

"Things are going great dad, I can't really complain" Londiwe says as she continues to fix her eyes on TV. "But Mbali is right baba(dad), if you were here more often you'd be able to know all that" she says with a low voice that sounds disappointed. It looks like Mthoko is also disappointed at hearing those words from her daughter.

"You know, when was the last time you went to the garages or the supermarkets to check on things?" Londiwe continues. Mthoko wants to interject but his daughter won't let him, "I know that mom has that covered but it won't harm for you just to show a little bit of interest in your businesses. I know that you do go to the rank and attend to the Association's business but we have these other businesses too dad. Apart from all that, we also do need our father here from time to time. I don't know if you have noticed, but you are just never here now" she says as she gives her father a sharp eye.

This does make Mthoko a little sad and perhaps disappointed at himself as he says with a low voice, "I know that sweetheart...ofcourse I know that I haven't been here okay? It's just that the day goes by so fast without getting much done" as he looks at his wife before saying, "And this chaos that's been happening at the Association lately is not making things any easier"

This leads to a very uncomfortable silence as Londiwe shrugs her shoulder as if to say Arg whatever. All the while Lindiwe is keeping quiet as if she doesn't want to be part of this conversation as she continues to fix her eyes on the TV. Suddenly Londiwe stands up and says, "Look let me go make some calls in my room. Goodnight, you guys" as she looks at her brother Thula who also stands up and says, "Yeah well, I've got to study up anyways...goodnight" as he looks at his parents who look a little tense. I suppose the kids can feel that the folks need some time alone to talk.

But suddenly there's this very uncomfortable moment between Mthoko and his wife as Lindiwe continues to fix her eyes on the TV screen. Mthoko switches the TV off in order to his wife's attention, which he does...albeit from a very annoyed heart. "Baby, can we talk...please" he says with a soft and begging voice.

It's not like he is giving Lindiwe much of a choice as she turns and looks at her husband. "Look love, I know that I haven't been here lately and I want make it up to you guys" he says as he takes his wife's hands, she doesn't pull away. "It's just that things have been so hectic lately and time is just something..." he says but doesn't finish his thought as Lindiwe cuts in, "But babe, you keep telling the kids that you don't have time because of work but when have you ever not had lots of work? But you have always managed to make time for your family. And you normally get busy downstairs at the study, so what work is it that you now have to do from outside the house?" she asks curiously.

Mthoko knows that this is a very difficult question to answer but he also knows that if he doesn't give his wife something, he will only create suspicion. "Look babe, I can't tell you right now okay but I promise that when it's all over I will explain everything to you" he says as he rubs his wife's hands gentle but this time she pulls away.

"What are you talking about Sibisi? Why can't you tell me now? What's keeping you away from your family?" Lindiwe probes much to Mthoko's discomfort as he struggles to look into his wife's eyes and lie. Suddenly flash memories of Phuthuma quickly passes his mind. He thinks about some moments of passion he's had with her but then in a blink of an eye Zikode and Faroukh's faces flash on his mind, which seems to snap him out of it. He is in two minds about all this, which is only making his wife even more curious and anxious as she can tell that her husband is hiding something from her.

"Look baby...like I said, I promise that when all of this is done I will explain everything to you okay?" Mthoko says with a begging voice as he takes his wife's hands again. "But just know that I love you very much...you and the kids are everything..." he says but doesn't finish as Lindiwe pulls away from him and stands up. She gives him a look as though she is annoyed with him before storming out of the room as she goes upstairs to her room.
