THE BRACELET 5

LEAGO

I've been at the hospital for the whole night waiting for my husband to wake up. Amo is stressing out because he has never seen his father like this and I hope he didn't have to witness it.

Amo: Will daddy be okay?

Me: Yes my baby your father will be fine

The doctor soon asks us to follow him and luckily, my husband is awake. Turns out it was just fatigue

TUMELO

I'm still adjusting to this new body and if I had a choice I would have remained in the previous one. At least there I had a stable life and relationship with people who cared but now I haven't even seen a smile from the people I'm living with. To avoid any drama and misunderstandings I remain in my backroom and just lie down because the bracelet refused to give me any clues this time. I've tried countless times to throw it away but eventually it just reappears on my wrist and I've given up. The knock on the door slips me out of my deep thoughts

Me: Come in

My brother's girlfriend walks in then suddenly there's a name popping up at the top of my head. Like the last time, I'm just going to blurt it out and hope it's correct. I rub the bracelet nervously and she notices but doesn't ask

Me: I thought you said I should stay away from you, Ofentse

Ofentse: I just brought your charger

Me: Thanks you can leave it there

Ofentse: What's that?

She points at the bracelet

Me: Just a bracelet

Ofentse: Can I see it?

Me: No

Ofentse: Tumelo I'm truly sorry for lashing out at you earlier

Me: It's okay

Ofentse: Aren't you going to the car wash today?

Oh I have a car wash? Interesting

Me: I'm not sure

Ofentse: I know you said business is very slow but it's better than sitting here and having your mom shout at you. I really don't like how she and your brother treat you and I hope that one day things work out for you

Me: Thank you. I really needed to hear those words

Ofentse: Now get dressed and stop feeling sorry for yourself

She places the charger on top of the microwave and walks out. She seems like a nice person and I'm starting to understand why I backstabbed my brother. The room is boring anyway so I might just go check out the car wash that she's talking about.

I put on my clothes and let my feet and the bracelet lead me to wherever this place is. Turns out it's on the second street, not far from home. I get there and find a guy already preparing whatever is needed to clean cars. I'm hoping I get his name right too as I fiddle with the bracelet.

Me: I hope I'm not late, Sticks

Sticks: Not at all

Me: I'll sweep in the meantime

That's the only thing I seem to know how to do and I'm hoping to learn how to wash a car real quick. Soon our first client arrives and I just go with what my mind tells me to do. No one complains so I guess I'm doing it right. While polishing the tires, I feel warm hands on my neck and I slowly turn. I have no idea who this lady behind me is but she's all smiles. I stand up, dusting my hands from the dust residue I picked up on the ground. I smile back without making it obvious that I'm confused. Sticks comes to the rescue by speaking to her first

Sticks: What's up, Warona? I haven't seen you in a while

Warona; I'm okay. I was at my father's place the whole of last week

Sticks: Oh I see

Warona: Motho waka (my person)

She pecks my lips and I just stand there not knowing what to do

Me: Babe

Warona: I've been calling you since last night. Were you avoiding my calls?

Me: No there's something wrong with my phone

Warona: Again?

Me: Ya but I'll get it fixed soon

Warona: With what money, Tumelo

This snob in front of me is making it obvious that I'm broke and useless. Can I switch bodies yet again? How the hell did a low life broke guy like me end up with a woman so fine like her?

Me: I'll make a plan

Warona: How have you been?

Me: I'm fine

Warona: Baby you haven't seen me for the whole week and now you're just going to turn your back on me?

Me: I'm not feeling okay I'm sorry

Warona: What's wrong?

Me: Things aren't okay at home

Warona: Things are never okay and I know that but you're never this way

She rubs my burnt arm with her hand and I'm wondering what really happened

Warona: So I'm coming over tonight. We could watch a movie and catch up. I miss you so much

She runs her fingers in between my thighs, up to my testicle and I just imagine how that gay man was grabbing on my balls the other day. I step back and continue polishing the tires

Me: Yeah sure I'll see you then

Warona: It was lovely seeing you, Sticks

Sticks: You too, sisters

As soon as she walks away, he grabs on my T-shirt and slaps the back of my head

Me: What was that for?

Sticks: What's wrong with you?

Me: I don't know what you're talking about

Sticks: You gave her a cold shoulder. After everything this girl has put up just to be with you, is this how you thank her? I mean it's bad enough that you slept with your brother's girlfriend even after I warned you

Me: It was a mistake

Sticks: Kabelo will burn your other arm and this time I won't feel sorry for you

So my brother is the one who gave me these scars?

Sticks: That woman loves you even though she's above your standards. I just don't get why you're like this and one day you'll wake up alone, she'll be gone. Someone on her level will snatch her

Me: Do you all have to rub my poverty in my face?

Sticks: Grow up, Tumelo. Warona is the only woman giving you genuine love without wanting anything in return but you're ungrateful. Even after her mother told you straight to stay away from her, she still did everything in her power to be with you

What have I gotten myself into? How do I find the rightful owner of the bracelet if I'm not even given a chance to get used to all of this?

...

...

WARONA

Mom: I thought you'd be having dinner with me tonight. I miss you my baby

Me: Not tonight, mom

Mom: So you're ditching me for that low life boy?

Me: Don't call him that. I love him mama and it's not fair that you won't accept him just because he's not privileged

Mom: You deserve better, Wawa. He's milking you off your money and you won't see that

Me: Tumelo has never asked me for money mama don't be like this

Mom: You will regret this. Nothing good will ever come out of this relationship with such huge imbalance

Me: Yes he's broke but I still love him

Mom: Love is never enough

Me: Don't wait up I might be back in the morning

Mom: Make sure you use a condom. I can't be a grandma to his bastard child

If I reply I might come across as disrespectful so I just walk out. It's about 5 mins from my home to his and I hope not to bump into his mother as I walk in because she's a piece of work. I make my way into Tumelo's room undetected and I find him just out of the water, still naked

I'm as freaky as they come so I throw my bag on the chair and push him to the bed. I press his wrists to the bed and sit on him

Tumelo: You're early

Me: I have timing

Tumelo: What are you doing to me?

Me: What I've been fantasizing about for the whole week.

I leave wet kisses all over his neck and he pulls my dress up, feeling my nakedness

Tumelo: You're not wearing underwear

Me: What's the use of wearing it if you're going to take it off?

Tumelo: I missed you

Me: I know

He slides his index finger inside my wet and warm private part and starts stroking. I want to feel the real thing so I grab on his d*ck and slide it in before making back and forth steady thrusts. The door opens and his mom steps in. I jump off the bed, almost falling over. Tumelo quickly covers his nakedness with a towel that was on the bed. I've never been so embarrassed in my life

Ma: Your grandmother Abigail has arrived

She gives me dirty looks as if I'm filthy or something

Tumelo: I'm coming

She walks out and slams the door. I pull my dress down in shame
