CHAPTER 4

" Good morning sir."
" Mmh."
The grumpy Skhosana answered back dismissively not even a glance to her face.
Qinile sat down on the chair and put her bag on the floor.
" Get ready, there is a presentation taking place in the evening."
She smiles, not that he is talking to her but to that she finished her work on time, she finished work just yesterday when he left and never came back yesterday.
That's not good of him to do, as his personal assistant she should know where her boss is going because she is the personal assistant. After him it's her who should put everything in order.
" And get me a coffee, not hot or cold. Just mild."
Qinile sprint off her chair running out of the office to get him the coffee. He caught a sight of her shoes. He was surprised when he didn't hear her heels noise today. So she wants to disgrace him like that.?
He can't put her to the show and introduce her as the new personal assistant with those shoes.
Didn't Linda give this girl some rules ?
He picks the land line phone and called the receptionist fast.
" Good morning sir.?"
" There is nothing good about this morning. To my office, now.!"
He said and in just two minutes Linda walked in.
" Sir.?"
" Wait there..you will see."
He clicks his tounge irritated. There is a meeting in few hours yet god won't miss any opportunity to put a brick on every step of his way to victory.
Qinile walks in. She puts the coffee on the table with a smile.
" Your coffee sir, not hot or cold. Just mild."
He looks away from her.
" Linda, take her somewhere else with the business card. I don't care what you do to her but when she comes back to this office I need to see some changes. There is a big meeting with foreigners and if I lose this deal consider the both of you fired from my company."
He snapped.
" Sir, it's like you are finding it hard to breathe."
Here she goes. He frowned at her. What's that supposed to mean.?
" What's wrong with my clothes.? "
" My company is wrong with your clothes, what did you thing this is when you applied here. A nanny show.?"
Qinile gasp.
" And.."
Linda closed her mouth. Skhosana looked pissed. She should have let her say whatever she wanted to say and he wasn't going to think twice on her.
" We will be out."
Linda drags qinile out of the office.
" My bag.!"
Qinile shouted at Linda and she rushed back to get it not even looking at Skhosana.

She blinks her tears as they both leave the office.
Her boss thinks less of her, that man is way discriminating. Only if that time on his neck snaps and teach the bitch out of him some lessons.
" You shouldn't talk back at the boss."
She directed her face to Linda. Her moods are swinging back and forth this minute.
" Should I always be deprived of my freedom to be free in public.? So someone has to die because he woke up grumpy and stuff."
Linda giggles looking at her face. They both got in Linda's car.
" No one is forcing his tired *** to the office. If he doesn't feel nice with people he should keep his words."

" This presentation means a lot to this company. Ant trust me he is not always like that."
To the grave of her dead gang.! Who.? The Skhosana she met yesterday for the first time is as evil as hell.
Imagen him trying to get her a new office where he won't see a sight of her. Asking for a male assistant infront of her.
True he is not always like that, he is better on TV than in personal. Period.!

She pulls herself together and an evil smile creeps on her lips.
" Is that card a business card for like emergency and stuff.?"
Linda fought the urge to look at her.
" Something like that."
Qinile's heart skips a beat. She will return that insult back with money. Anything that will keep wrinkles away from her beautiful and nice body is something harmless..money is harmless.

STHEMBISILE.

She stood on the stairs. The next thing she exhale a big one and closed her eyes. Then immediate her phone rings, it's her mother. She is having a second thought on picking it up. Nelisiwe always brings stress to her system and she got enough at the moment.

When she thought the call was cut it rings again. She won't give up, not nelisiwe. Sthembisile picks up on the second ring.
" Sawbona Maa."
Her feet are weak and her hands are tired from nightshifts. After this last class today she is going straight to bed for strength at seven pm. The bar might be packed. Besides it's Friday, weekends means more customers.
" Thembi Nana. How are you my baby.?"
" I don't have money Maa. "
Just incase she needs to know before asking her what she can not give.
" Who said I need your money. ? I was just checking up on you. "
That's shocking.
" Anyway, your sister got a job. A good job at that matter."
She takes a smile. Deep down she is happy that her sister got something to take care of themselves that side and keep them going but clearly she is tired.
She is tired of being a burden to qinile. Everytime she will be calling her sister for money or for something..
Her sister is more focused on her and not her life because of her studies.
She doesn't want to always depend on her like this. Qinile should also get a break , she deserves it. Ever since they were young qinile was always the bread winner.
Putting ends meet.
When she went to college she never forgot about them. She always came for a visit twice a month and sent money.
Right now all Sthembisile needs is to give her sister a break.
" Oh."
" Yeah, she didn't tell you because she wanted it to be a suprise when you come back."
Konje even the holidays are approaching yet she will go home empty handed. Without a gift for her beloved sister.
" I'll call her up later to congratulate her. Look Maa, I need to go to class now. Talk later ."
" Okay. Bye baby "
It still feels like a dream when nelisiwe calls her that. She hanged up and sat down on the stairs.
What could give her mother this kinda joy when she always discouraged qinile to stop looking for a job, because to her it was embarassing

NELISIWE

Rebecca Malope 's album will start begging for water because this woman ain't giving it a chance.
She sings happily and dance like her bones are as young and strong to move like that.
A door knock follows, disturbing her good peace. MaJabu peeps inside as the door was open.
" Come in Makhi."
Nelisiwe reduce the volume and sat down on her rusty couch. Soon this whole furniture will be replaced by new once as soon an qinile gets paid. She won't miss that opportunity to invite everyone for tea when she does so.
Maa ka Jabu sat opposite her.
'' you sound so happy today Nel's. I heard through the wall and I thought maybe you sold the house. Maybe it is someone."
This gogo doesn't miss any chance to brag about her wall that was built a year ago. She should just take a sip of water and breath our the hot air before it pops her lungs open.
" You can never buy happiness Makhi. "
" Mmh, did you win lotto.? Kwenzakalani."
Nelisiwe laughs.
She knew that her best friends sent her to investigate what is going on in her house. So they really thought that Nelisiwe Nyambose will be poor forever whereas she birthed two beautiful girls of her own.?
" What if an dying soon, will you also ask me that.?"
" Good forbid Nel's. My beautiful neighbour. Nothing can ever happen to you."

" Exactly Makhi. As you can see, I was busy when you came in. I need to finish up and plan what's for dinner."
She stood up first. MaJabu dissapointedly stood up also.
" Oh, yesterday I saw Qinile coming back late and now I can't even see her. Did you send her to an errand.?"
" Qinile is over eighteen now, so please..don't bother yourself. She knows where she is. Excuse me Makhi. Am busy, too busy. "
