Khethelo Mzobe doesn’t believe in fairy tales—or in men. A dominant force in the courtroom, she’s built her life on control, precision, and winning. Love? Irrelevant. Companionship? Unnecessary. Her ambition is the only thing that keeps her warm at night.
But when she’s assigned the case of Aziel Khumbeni, everything begins to unravel.
Aziel is infamous. Accused of murdering his own father, orchestrating bank heists, trafficking drugs, and a trail of other violent crimes, he’s already guilty in the court of public opinion. But behind the steel cuffs and cruel reputation is a man who looks at her like he already owns her soul—and speaks like he’s studied every crack in her armor.
Khethelo takes the case because it’s the biggest of her career. She tells herself it’s just strategy. Just work. Just business. But every encounter with Aziel is a battle she keeps losing—and somehow, she doesn't mind.
As secrets surface and danger creeps closer, Khethelo must confront the one thing she’s always avoided: surrender.
Because when you're defending the devil... sometimes you fall for him.

Am so glad they ended up together like it was supposed to be from the beginning.

I hate Elik even in death. He better stay dead. He was very calculative, he knew about Aziel loving Khethelo and he acted like he was oblivious to it all. I hate that pride had to get in the way of Aziel and Khethelo because Mbali would not have died, Khethelo would not have suffered but I guess it had to happen that way for life to sharpen her to being a better and stronger version of who she was. Also she is able to be a mother through Aziel and Dilara's kids. Yhoo it was emotion, too emotional at some point

I have never been so mad at the twist of things like this. I honestly thought after Aziel was free they would start building their relationship with no bagge. My heart is sore
