Love in the Time of Assembly


I've always had a thing for guys with dark skin - there's something undeniably manly and sexy about them. Standing in the scorching sun during school assembly, I felt a different kind of heat as our new teacher, Simo-esihle Zungu, introduced himself. His name suited him perfectly, I must say. Just as I was taking him in, the bell rang, signaling the start of classes. I wouldn't see him again until break time, since he only taught commerce stream, and I was in science stream. For a moment, I regretted not taking Accounting, but then I remembered why I'd chosen science: only 10 out of 50 students had passed grade 11 in the commerce class, whereas our science class had 30 students, and I was determined to succeed.
