Amahle is young woman from a struggling family. When a wealthy family approaches them with a marriage proposal, her parents agree immediately;for status, respect, and financial stability.

She is forced to marry Nkosinathi, a successful but emotionally distant man who never wanted marriage. He already has a girlfriend, Candice, and makes it clear that Amahle is only there to be a "wife in name."

Amahle enters the marriage determined to survive not to love.
