I left the prison the moment kudakwashe was heading to his cell. I can't believe how much he has changed. I quickly bought a ticket back to Harare, feeling grateful for what Kuda had done. He had signed the divorce papers without a fight, and that meant a lot to me.
Before I went to see him, I had to confirm with Ma'Thandi if he was really arrested. Months back, I didn't really tackle that matter, but now I needed to know. And what I saw in Kuda's eyes when I visited him... it was different. He is no longer the man he was before. He is learning, growing, and that gives me hope.
l arrive in Harare the next day, I take a taxi straight to my mother's house. I unlock the door and lm welcomed by my Joshua and Tiana, who jump on me excitedly. They had been expecting me, and I ams happy to see them.
Tiana : Mom, how is daddy?
she asks , looking up at me with curious eyes.
Me : He's well, baby
I reply , smiling.
My mother walks towards me, a warm embrace enveloping me.
Her :I'm so proud of you mwanangu you're strong and brave.
Just then, a baby cries, and I smile, walking towards Neo, who is now a crawling toddler. He has grown up so much!
Ashley makes her way inside the house, carrying groceries and greeting everyone with a warm smile. She has become part of our family, and I am grateful for her love and support.
Ashley : l see you back , how did it go
Me :I went to see Kuda, and he's changed, Ashley. He's really trying to become a better man. And I'm free, finally. I'm me again, Martina Muranda .
her face lit up with a warm smile as she envelopes me in a tight hug.
Ashely :I'm so proud of you! You're a strong, amazing woman!
we broke apart, her eyes sparkle with excitement.
Ashley :So, when are we auctioning off Hope's Haven? We've worked so hard on this program for abused women!
I grin, feeling a sense of accomplishment.
Me : Tomorrow! We're finally ready. Hope's Haven is a reality, and it's all thanks to our hard work.
My mother, beaming with pride, joins in on the conversation.
Her : I'm so proud of you both. You've become strong, independent women who are now empowering others. That's truly something to be proud of.
I feel a surge of gratitude towards my mother and Ashley. We have come a long way, and we are just getting started. Tomorrow, we will take another step towards creating a safe haven for women who need it most. And I know that with these two incredible women by my side, we will accomplish anything.

I finished preparing lunch for everyone and l say my goodbyes, making sure to give Martina a warm hug. I walk to my car, with Neo snuggled in his carrier..
I drive home, my mind wandering to the auction tomorrow and how excited I am to see Hope's Haven finally come to life. But as I pull into my driveway, my thoughts shift to the strange sensations I'd been experiencing lately.
Getting out of the car, I feel a shiver run down my spine. I quicken my pace, my baby secured in my arms, and approach the front door. Just as I reach for the handle, chills ran down my spine, and my back stood on end. I spin around, scanning the area behind me, but there is no one there.
My heart beats as I try to shake off the feeling of being watched. I told myself I was just being paranoid, that it was all in my head. I quickly open the door and slipped inside, locking the door behind me. I lean against the door, trying to catch my breath. I don't know what is happening, but I know I have to protect my baby and myself.
