EIGHT.
**BOKANG**

She has been inside for more than 15 minutes and we were running late. I got out my car and went into the house to check her. The first thing I saw when I walked down the passage was her foot and I rushed into the room only to find her on the floor fainted. Her grandmother was lying dead on her bed covered in blood and I panicked. I am the type to always think on my feet but I my mind quickly became blank. I picked her up and took her to the couch before I called the police. Pulane was still unconscious when the medics arrived and the neighbors were already outside wanting to know what happened. They took my statement while Pulane was still in the ambulance and I really right have much information to give them. They took the body out and declared the house as a murder scene when they surrounded it with the yellow tape. I followed the ambulance in my car and I waited for hours before I could see Pulane.

Me: "You really gave me a fright"
Pulane: "She's dead?"
Me: "I'm sorry, Pulane"
Pulane: "I shouldn't have taken on John. I told you he's dangerous"
Me: "Shh! I'll fix it"
Pulane: "Nothing will ever bring my grandma back. She was the only family I had left"
Me: "I know that but I'm here now"
Pulane: "Please just go"
Me: "Why? I need to make sure that you're okay"
Pulune: "Your father has caused so much pain in my life and I'll never forgive him"
Me: "I don't even know what to say"
Pulane: "You don't have to say anything"
Me: "I'll fix it"

The door opened and mom came in. I had texted her but didn't explain the whole thing
.
Mom: "Bokang what happened?"
Me: "John happened"
Mom: "John happened how?"
Me: "He killed Pulane's grandma"
Mom: "No! John is evil but this"
Me: "For how long are you going to defend that man?"
Mom: "I... It can't be"
Pulane: "Both of you please leave"
Me: "Pulane I need to make sure you're okay"
Pulane: "Go, Bokang. I don't want to see you or your father"
Mom: "It's fine papa you can go I'll stay with her"

I tried to hold her hand but she moved it. I walked out and drove to my dad's office hoping I'd find him there. I went straight into his office and I only found his PA
.
Me: "Where's my father?"
PA: "Good day to you too Mr Mokoena Jr"
Me: "My father, I need to see him"
PA: "You didn't know?"
Me: "Didn't know what?"
PA: "Mr Mokoena flew to China this morning for business"
.
My heart raced. I grabbed whatever was on his desk and tossed it on the floor. I was raging with burning anger and I felt powerless that I wouldn't be able to reach him. I poured myself a glass of his whiskey before walking out. I drove all around Johannesburg trying to think of something until I eventually stopped at a club for a few drinks. One shot led to many and I ended up spending the night trying to forget about my problems. I lay wasted on the VIP couch when I felt hands all over my body

Gigi: "You only drink this much when you're stressed"
Me: "Are you following me?"
Gigi: "Don't flatter yourself. You're the one who drove from Pretoria to Johannesburg to get wasted"
Me: "John motherfucken Mokoena"
Gigi: "Okay you know what? Give me your car keys"
Me: "What for?"
Gigi: "You're in no state to get behind the steering wheel and you'll not die on my watch"

She searched my pockets and took the keys. She forced me up and all I remembered is blacking out at the back of the car. When I woke up the next day I was feeling under the weather and my body needed a cold shower and enough food. I was in Gigi's room and I was also very late for work. I got dressed and walked out of the bedroom.

Gigi: "Look who's up"
Me: "Why didn't you wake me up? Now I'm late for work"
Gigi: "You couldn't stop talking about how comfortable my bed is"
Me: "Thanks for driving me last night"
Gigi: "Is that the only thing you'll give thanks to?"
Me: "What's that supposed to mean?"
Gigi: "I gave you hell of a great time last night"
Me: "I never asked for it"
Gigi: "Says someone who couldn't keep my name out of his mouth"
Me: "I was out of it and quite frankly I remember none of it"
Gigi: "Maybe we should recap"
Me: "Don't fool yourself. You and I will not be a thing again"
Gigi: "Bokang how many times do I have to apologize?"
Me: "Thanks for the comfortable bed but I'm leaving"
Gigi: "It's still me, baby. The same woman you fell in love with 6 years ago"
Me: "Gigi you have to understand that love fades too"
Gigi: "Love is forgiving, Bokang. Yesterday was not a coincidence, it was meant to be"
Me: "I have a lot to deal with right now"
Gigi: "More reason to have me by your side"
Me: "I don't see you in that way anymore"
Gigi: "We can take baby steps, B. We have our whole lives ahead of us to fall in love again"
Me: "Bye, Gigi"
.
She pulled me back and kissed me. As much as I didn't want to, I felt so weak to get touch and I haven't been with any other woman after her. I haven't been intimate with a woman for 6 months. I needed to head back in the game and I felt mybody heating up. She already knew my weakest points so it wasn't hard for her to lure me back to her bed.
30 MINUTES LATER

Gigi: "I really missed you, B. I missed us"
Me: "Don't get your hopes up"
Gigi: "We don't have to rush anything. I'll just be here whenever you need to unwind and de-stress"
Me: "I don't want to lead you on for nothing"
Gigi: "I totally understand that you don't want a relationship so I won't push. I just want to be there for you"
Me: "You caught me at my weakest and took advantage of that"
Gigi: "If that's the only way to get close to you then I'd do it again"
Me: "I have to go"
.
I got my one leg out blanket and she pulled me back in. She got on top of me and I fell for her again
